Manager Review

Funtierland Vacation Rentals

Funtierland Vacation Rentals's guest rating of 4.58 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

This house is beautifully kept, and the peaceful outdoor surroundings make it a lovely retreat for anyone wanting a calming connection with nature. With just a little extra attention to tidying up the sitting area and cleaning away the leaves and spider webs in the children’s play zone, it could become even more welcoming for guests.

We had a wonderful time down in Encinitas being able to walk the beach was a great treat for our group.

Beautiful home that accommodated 4 families in one! We enjoyed our stay very much and would come back.

The location is not as described. The house is described as being 'just steps from Encinitas beach'. It is definitely not. It is about a mile walk to the beach access steps and there are 100 of them to negotiate before reaching the beach! It is described as being 'the perfect place to relax and unwind' and 'a calm retreat' but there is a train line behind the house which is very noisy as trains run throughout the day and night. On arrival, there were no written instructions or recommendations, only a QR code which didn't work and said 'QR Code inactive, contact the administrator'. We advised Funtierland but nothing was done. There were two showers in the house but for the first night and day only one of them worked; it was thermostatically temperamental resulting in us having to queue to shower in order to maintain the temperature. In the end, my husband (a chartered engineer) was able to get the other shower to work, much to Funtierland's relief.

The instructions and reviews are for several different locations, some apply to your specific stay but other details are missing. The phone representative was easy to reach but did not know the specifics on how to get to our unit.

Pros: 1. Good location 2. Beach view 3. Shared jacuzzi was available and we had a great and relaxing time. 4. Pet friendly. Cons: 1. Unit location is misleading. The address is the main house but the rental units are located on the back of the main property. I saw at least 3 properties but none of them are numbered. I had to call the property manager to find out which one was the unit we were staying at. It took at least 10 minutes to figure everything out. 2. Unit needs to be upgraded. Kitchen cabinets, bathroom, kitchen supplies, window blinds everything outdated. There is no “luxury experience” as advertised. 3. We found some of the Kitchen tools and utensils dirty (dry food and stains) Final thoughts: Overall too pricey for the whole experience.

Location is very close, and as described. We were able to check-in early for a fee, but only after a few reminders on our end. Be prepared for non-stop emails to everyone on the invite list. We even got a courtsey phone call 15mins before checkin to try and sell us some addons like a stroller. The emails were excessive.

Firstly, the house was good and close to disneyland. although we did not walk to the park, it was fast and easy to get there with 4 excited little kids. Now the “quiet hours” are insane. We were told to be quiet from 10pm-9am while other neighbors were out there having parties and talking. How does anyone expect 3, 4, or 5 year olds to be quiet by a certain time on vacation. I understand not being LOUD but to not even be able to be outside is just a waste of the house for the amount it cost to use. Overall stay was just ok, rooms were nice and fit everyone comfortably. The showers and toilets stopped working and stuff was coming back up them was a bummer but we left earlier than check to go elsewhere.

The only real problem we had was there were mice. We woke up in the middle of the night hearing the undeniable sound of a mouse skittering around. Then we found mouse droppings the next day. It was very gross and unsettling. We reached out for assistance with it and never heard back. Otherwise it was okay. The place obviously could use some updates, especially with the old flooring that had many cracks, gaps, and creaks. The house as a whole felt bigger than we expected so that was awesome! We didn’t realize 2 bedrooms were upstairs but that was useful for keeping a quieter space for babies who went to bed earlier. The pool was SUPER nice! The beds were comfy enough, very squeaky but not bad. The rooms were just outdated, but I feel like the pictures represented the place pretty well. The kitchen area was great! The couches looked and felt pretty dirty though so hopefully they get them cleaned.

Our stay for our Disneyland trip was very disappointing. The house was not clean, had a bad smell, and did not match the pictures online. Our baby’s knees became very dirty from crawling on the floors, and the beds were squeaky and uncomfortable. There were spider webs, the patio and outside area were dirty, and the bathroom windows felt too exposed for privacy. The busy street was also very noisy early in the morning. My daughter was even bitten by a spider during our stay.
