“MICE!!! We experienced a lot of active mouse activity in this home right after check in. We saw 5 mice come out of the wall by the chimney. We did make the choice to leave the property shortly after check in due to the mice and feces we found on the main floor, especially in the kitchen. Management was not helpful and did not seem to care about the situation. We were not communicated with well regarding this situation. The help line was responsive, but most of our concerns needed “top management” which were not easy to get a hold of. The property was beautiful and the view of the lake was nice! We were excited to stay here, sad about how it turned out.”

“The house was beautiful and very clean. The only issue we had was when we arrived we found out they gave us the wrong address. We showed up at someone's house. I had to contact them to get the correct address.”

“Most everything was good. Towels we definitely mildewy and the sheets look very much used in one of the beds! Didn't effect the rating but slightly better signage would be helpful. You guys also have a mouse problem. It was good but needs some elbow grease to be great!”

“If I could give this property a negative rating, I would. The door code didn’t work upon arrival. After 15 to 20 minutes of trying different codes, we discovered a back door had been left unlocked. The MAIN reason I booked this property was the garage. I specifically confirmed beforehand that we could park our motorcycles inside. We could not. It was filled with junk, paint, and broken pool and air hockey tables. The house smelled awful, the kitchen floor was sticky, and there appeared to be black mold throughout, especially around the downstairs washer. Calling this a 5 bedroom home is extremely misleading. Several “bedrooms” are actually open common areas, a Murphy bed in the living room, and what appears to be a converted closet. Only 1 of the 3 bathrooms is accessible without entering a private bedroom. I contacted them the first night about the issues and received what appeared to be AI generated responses instead of actual help. Extremely disappointing. You also can’t get mail.”

“Gorgeous, rustic style new home. There were ten of us staying for our daughter’s wedding. Not being able to take showers due to lack of water pressure-not a drop, period after sprinklers ran or using washer dishwasher was a serious inconvenience. Also had to buy bottled water to drink. The frig filter needed replacing and water tasted terrible.”

“Great location within walking distance of the beach, nicely decorated, clean, spacious. Unfortunately, several maintenance issues overshadowed our stay. The biggest was the water system. With 4 adults and 4 kids, we couldn’t take a shower without the water shutting off completely. We had to reset the breaker at least 10 times in our two-night stay and wait several minutes each time for the water pressure to return. Other issues included: the arcade game didn’t work, the master bedroom door handle repeatedly fell off (locking us out for 20 minutes once), the garbage disposal didn’t work, and there wasn’t a lighter for the fire pit/fireplace. They didn’t have a required extension cord in order to start Pit Boss smoker. The alternative wasn’t a convenient outdoor outlet but we made it work. Finally, Timber Vacation Rentals felt very rigid with check-in/out times and the extra fees, especially the pet fee. This home has a lot of potential, but the maintenance issues need to be addressed.”

“No fans in a house with no a/c, no ice trays in the fridge, no dishrack for washed dishes, no kitchen wash rags, the soap dispenser in the bathroom was 95% water!”

“The stay itself was beautiful! It had great amenities and was above and beyond in that sense. The communication was horrible though. I asked to get a late checkout at least 3 times, with plenty of time for them to reply, and had no response. Communication was poor, but otherwise the stay was lovely!”

“This rental was very nice and clean and a lot bigger than it looks. It’s very close to town and very walkable. But we asked for an early check in and ended up having an even later check in than we were told. The cleaner was still cleaning the rental when we arrived at 4pm and we didn’t get in until 5pm. We had wet towels that were put away also, so the check in was very frustrating…”

“Communication started off well. Jon was responsive. Problems arose when we set up and paid for early check in. When we arrived the cleaners were still there and did t finish for 2.5 hours after our promised check in time. We were a group of 20 people displaced. We were told there was a fir pit and to bring our own wood, and there was not. We were then accused of having an unauthorized fire (maybe a previous guest)? The worst part was the morning of check out. I set up late check out 11 am. Maintenance people started to arrive at 7am to service the hot tub and scared my daughter exiting the bathroom. The owner then showed up with a group of about 8 people later that morning walking around the house and looking in windows, while we still occupied the home. I had to approach him to let him know we wouldn’t be checking out until 11 which he already knew because he approved it. He was rude and said they were “only dropping off a bbq” if you value time and privacy don’t book.”
