Five Star Gulf Rentals

Five Star Gulf Rentals's guest rating of 4.60 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

Overall was a good experience apart from dirty floors upon arrival and unexpected rules/fees that I was responsible for. Expect to pay for beach umbrellas out of pocket because you cannot use your own and host never revealed that until 2 days before arrival. 3 umbrellas cost us $900 for 5 days! Cost that we did not expect to pay! Details like that should be mentioned before initial booking! House was great close to the beach and very comfortable beds! Pool is very small.

The house itself was nice overall and had good potential, but there were too many maintenance, cleanliness, and communication issues for us to overlook. When we arrived, the floors were dirty, there were stains on the kitchen stools, and there was visible dust on drawers and surfaces. One downstairs bedroom door handle was completely destroyed/missing upon arrival. The refrigerator beeped throughout our entire stay saying the door was open even when it was shut properly. The second-floor washing machine did not work correctly, and the kitchen was not well stocked for cooking. There were very limited utensils, no coffee filters for the coffee maker, and the outdoor grill had no barbecue utensils or cleaning supplies. The hot tub also had visible mildew, which was disappointing. In addition, the garage door did not function properly during the stay. Several carpets/rugs throughout the house had corners folded upward, creating a tripping hazard. The biggest issue was the lack of comm

Our stay was great! Wonderful area and the golf cart was a perfect touch. It made getting around easy and lessens the sand in your car for beach trips! The house was clean and well kept. There wasn’t any beach towels/hot tub towels, so remember to pack your own. I would also recommend checking the various codes provided as soon as you get there. The code they gave us for the pool and gym wasn’t working our entire stay and we had to change our pool day to a beach day, which turned out to be fine. I just wish the host would have responded a little sooner and offered a solution to the issue, but did not. That was our group’s only issue though, everything else was outstanding! We would definitely book again!

The home truly lived up to the listing, we loved how the rooms were laid out, how the living and cooking spaces flowed together and how much attention to detail was in just about everything. We really had an amazing time in the home and will seriously consider booking it again next year. The only complaint we had was the use of the front door to the home, we were not allowed to use the amazing, beautiful front door. We were directed by the agency that the front door was only for exiting the home. Every time we wanted to get into the home we had to enter the garage, then a small side door, walk through a long hallway and enter the house through a rear door of the kitchen. This was very uncomfortable when we had people come over, and they had to enter from a side door instead of the amazing front door. If you were inside and decided to step outside for a second, the door locked if you let it close and then you had to walk around the courtyard, through the garage to re-enter the home.

Please look elsewhere. There are plenty of properties nearby. The PM is non responsive and dismissive. Concerns were not remedied. The spa was never warmed during our stay even after multiple requests. The kitchen is not equipped for cooking. The yard ( front/back) were littered with cigarette butts everywhere. There are broken pool tiles with sharp edges. This home has a lot of potential but has been very neglected. The location, bikes and golf cart were great. Keep looking, without significantly improving the functionality of their property you will definitely be disappointed.

This unit was absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately it wasn’t as clean as I hoped it would be. While the beds were fresh and nicely made, my husband and I were overall disappointed with the cleanliness of the unit upon arrival. The carpet needed a serious vacuuming, and the kitchen was not properly prepared, with visible dirt on the counters and fingerprints on the fridge. We also found a significant amount of dirt under the couch cushions, where the covers were out of place. Additionally, we felt uncomfortable with the staff member setting up chairs and umbrellas; despite our wristbands being visible, he assumed we were trespassing and made unprofessional comments about how to respond if questioned. We hope these issues can be addressed for future guests.

Disappointed that the pool heater was confirmed to be on but after checking in learned it wasn’t on and wasn’t working at all. Booked the home just for the heated pool but took three days to get someone to come look at it. Pool company said the entire heating unit needed replaced. Also there were stains all over the master bedroom carpet. I think the overall location and neighborhood is fantastic but the home needs some TLC before its next renter!

While we had a great time overall, and made it work, this home needs updating. Dryer didn’t work; took a while for a response; when we did wash a load of clothes, they came out with a film on all the clothes; soaker tub in master was not hooked up to run (but showed so in the pictures). We had a person who had shoulder surgery, so was looking to soak her shoulder; fridge in carriage house didn’t work at all; process for beach chairs not explained so we missed out on several days of usage; some cooking pans not useable (peeling); hall light in carriage house was hanging from ceiling. Several bathrooms had hooks and toilet paper holders that fell off the wall.

Inquired about pool heat and never received a response. At 1am on the 2nd night, the entire homes fire alarms started going off! Kids scared and crying while the alarm system is screaming Fire, Fire, Fire… This happened again the same night at 4am! There was never any fire. I immediately emailed and text 5star property management and received notification that their typical response time is 14 HOURS!!! 2 days later they send a man to check system and he shrugs his shoulders and says nothing can be done. Beautiful view though.
