Emerald Coast Retreats
4.65Visit website
Emerald Coast Retreats's guest rating of 4.65 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“We had a great time on our trip and will share an honest review of what we liked and what we didn’t. The Celadon is in a quiet very west end of PCB. We felt it could use some better attention, such as the bathroom at the pool area was out of soap the entire week. I suspect there are housekeeping issues. The unit is right off the elevator and quite small. There is not a dining room table. There’s only seating for 4 at the bar. The bar stools are all wobbly and could be fixed or replaced. The floors were quite dirty. We had to keep socks on the baby or his feet would be black. The bathroom has a musty smell, possibly from the shower curtain that is covered in mold. The master bathroom door would not close. On a brighter side the decorations are lovely. The master bedroom area was very nice. The beds are comfortable. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed.”airbnb

“Pros: Beautiful space, great kitchen, comfy furniture on the balcony, and views that match the pictures. Beachside chairs were a big plus. Cons: Both beds and the pullout mattress were truly awful. No one slept well. I've never thought of a mattress as "cheap", but these truly were. I actually slept on the balcony chairs the last night and woke way more rested. There is no "check in" lobby type space. It's an office that just gives you parking passes and wristbands. They also have very limited hours. It would have been nice to have more clarity on this. Info on where the trash chutes were would also have been nice. One of the toilets clogged immediately after arriving. It took multiple phone calls, incorrect information, and a whole day to get it fixed. The internet was out for the whole building the majority of our stay. 2 of the 4 elevators were down the first day and it took 20 minutes to get to our room during check in rush. Lamp didn't work and coffee missing parts.”airbnb

“Elevators didn’t work half the time We lost power for multiple hours due to the dryer being messed up. We were unable to wash any towels or clothes. We had to throw away multiple items in the fridge and freezer when the power went out.”airbnb

“The home is located in a great area, close to many popular PCB restaurants, and the private beach access was definitely a highlight of our stay. However, we were disappointed with the cleanliness of the property. Check-in was at 4:00 PM, which already felt later than most places we’ve stayed. We asked about the possibility of an early check-in and were told the home was still being cleaned, but unfortunately that did not appear to be the case upon arrival. The sheets in all of the bedrooms appeared dirty and we ended up having to wash them ourselves. We also found dishes in the kitchen cabinets that looked as though they had been put away without being properly cleaned. Most concerning was the condition of the floors. We had a baby with us, and allowing her to crawl or even walking barefoot was not an option because the floors were extremely dirty. After only a short time crawling, our baby’s hands and knees were black from the dirt. We ultimately had to sweep and mop ourselves.”airbnb

“A day before our check in they sent instructions to a different place then we booked and pictures from the living room were different in the last email we got before check in. I reached out to me but did not get a response for 14 hours. I had to contact Airbnb and they also couldn't get a hold of them. Finally Airbnb canceled the reservation and we had to find a new place right on the day of our check in. Terrible experience. Would not recommend.”airbnb

“Our stay at this Airbnb was extremely disappointing. The home was not clean or properly maintained when we arrived. There were stains on the kitchen chairs and couch, black buildup in the toilets, ants in the kitchen, and all three shower curtains were falling off the hooks. The house also had several maintenance issues, including broken patio furniture, a damaged living room table, and a fireplace that did not work. We were only provided two trash bags for an entire week stay, which was unrealistic for multiple guests. The biggest issue was privacy and communication. We had already reported several problems, yet someone attempted to enter the home without proper notice while three women were staying there alone. That made us feel extremely uncomfortable and unsafe. Overall, the property did not match the expectations set by the listing. Between the cleanliness concerns, broken items, bugs, and poor communication, this stay was far more stressful than enjoyable.”airbnb

“This Airbnb was more than disappointing. The pictures didn’t match the in person look at all. Very disappointed and how they a handled making things right and any compensation refunds/discounts. The kitchen items were so dirty. There was mold on chairs and walls outside. There was sand in the beds. The outside of the door and hall reminds you of the projects. I wouldn’t live here again and also would not recommend for anyone.”airbnb

“Very disappointed in the way this host handled our concerns after the stay. The condo overall was ok but the couch had stains and the floors and rugs were noticeably dirty. The entrance door to the condo does not close all the way on its own so we slept the first night with it open. The pictures make the unit seem larger than it really is. If you rent this condo, do not use the dryer. The dryer is old and damaged three pairs of my son’s swimming trunks. I’ve given the host close to two weeks to make things right for the damaged clothes but they choose not to respond so I’m now working directly with Airbnb.”airbnb
