Manager Review

Embo Rentals

Embo Rentals's guest rating of 4.70 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“My group had a very bad experience with this AirBnb. We arrived an hour after check in, and the unit was disgusting. Trash was left over, crumbs and stains were in all of the rooms, the beds were not made, a wet floor mat was draped over the banister, and it was obvious that the hosts did not care to make sure that the unit was clean before we arrived. Furthermore, the front door and the door to the main bedroom were misaligned so they did not properly close, and we did NOT FEEL SAFE. There were multiple hosts, and all of them were unresponsive to our concerns, and even ignored AirBnB themselves when we contacted support. The images are deceptive and the unit is a lot older and worn down than shown. Bedrooms are located right next to each other so you can hear the people in the other rooms, there were barely any kitchen utensils, and they only gave us 4 towels. It’s a good location but it is poorly managed and maintained, so we do NOT recommend staying here.”

“PLEASE READ ALL REVIEWS BEFORE BOOKING THIS PLACE! Airbnb itself is smaller than it looks in photos but comfortable for my group of 12. Asked for an early check in and was asked to pay a fee that could be waived if I wrote a 5 star review before arriving. Description mentioned we’d have basic toiletries but as soon as we got there we didn’t have toilet paper, blankets, towels or hand soap, etc. Reached out to the 6 hosts multiple times, they were awful at communicating and didn’t help us. We ended up purchasing everything because they weren’t helpful. The last night of our stay, someone left two garbage bags with 4 decorative blankets (wasn’t enough for everyone to use). Rooms were very dusty, triggered a guests asthma. As soon as we were leaving the driveway post our check out, a cleaning company arrived and was rude. The Airbnb was fine but the hosts were irresponsible and did a poor job which ruined our experience. If you book this place, pack EVERY basic necessity to avoid issues!”

“Upon entering the house, it had been not been cleaned at all. Trash and food everywhere, horrible smell, completely unstayable. We reached out to the host immediately and all we received was “we will reach out to the cleaning company” with no other updates or responses for hours. Eventually had to scramble to find another place on Friday night of Labor Day weekend. Host never sent an update or apologized / offered any solutions. I get that sometimes these things happen, but at least giving us the bad news that it can’t be cleaned instead of leaving us in limbo for hours would have been common decency.”

“We waited an hour past check-in for cleaning to finish, but the place still felt like a frat house: a missing cabinet, no smoke detectors, dirty towels on floors and in washer, grimy stove and dishes, stained/smelly pillows, broken curtain rods, and no toilet paper or soap. When attempting to address this upon arrival, the host just only said they will speak to the cleaners. The host also told us they'd only refund us if we left a 5-star review or skipped mentioning these issues. Not what we expected from the host or property.”

“We stayed from August 30 through September 3. Upon arrival, the house was not adequately cleaned, and one of the beds was broken and unusable, requiring a member of our group to find other sleeping arrangements. We contacted the host about these issues, but they were not resolved. The host later offered to refund the cleaning fee only if we left a 5-star review, which we declined. Future guests should be aware of our experience when considering this property.”

“DON’T LET THE PRICE FOOL YOU, THIS PLACE IS A SCAM!!! - The air vents were caked with black mold and falling out of the ceiling. The air filter was black. - Bunk room was practically unusable because the bunks were unsecured and unstable. Also, no ladders to get onto these beds. - The beds themselves were filthy, with one bed being stained with what looked like blood and some other bodily fluid, as well as being covered with someone else's hair. - The smoke detectors throughout the entire house were missing. In general, the house was very dirty. Floors turned socks and feet black, grime on walls, disgusting fridge/freezer, dirty dishes, ants and roach droppings, dusty. - Kitchen faucet did not work properly. - Curtains were falling off of the wall. - Coathanger/Keyholder detached from the wall - Hidden fees regarding pets not in the house rules The hosts left us on read despite extensive documentation. These issues exist at their other properties. BOOK AT YOUR OWN RISK!”

“Not a good experience I tried to cancel 40 minutes after booking because I had a work emergency and the Airbnb host was too selfish to let me cancel.”

“This stay was extremely disappointing and unacceptable for the amount we paid. Upon arrival, the home was visibly dirty: smudged walls, crumbs on furniture, food left in the garbage disposal, dirty bedding/towels, and beer cans and bottles left outside. We also found a broken kitchen cabinet, broken door, broken light/fan, and exposed electrical outlets. The problems went far beyond appearance. A shower would not drain, and multiple guests were left without reliable hot water. The home was also inadequately stocked for a large group, with insufficient towels, toilet paper, and paper towels. Most frustrating was the host’s response, or lack thereof. We reported these issues during our stay, sent photos/documentation, and gave them the opportunity to correct them. Despite reading our messages, communication was ZERO and the problems were not resolved during our stay. A large, expensive rental should be clean, safe, functional, and properly maintained. This was not.”

“During our stay we noted mold throughout the home, dirty bedding , and the cleanliness was not up to par. We communicated with the host, they were supposed to send someone out the following morning at 10:30 but the cleaning crew never came. We had to message them multiple times proving that the home was dirty and there was mold. We sent photo evidence, bought our own bedding and shower liner just to use the amenities. Once I asked for the cleaning fee back, they told me if I gave no rating that they would give me 70% back but if I gave a 5 star rating they would give me 100% back. At that point it was a scam and I let AIRBNB handle it. At this time we are still trying to get our money back for the stay but it seems that AIRBNB can't help because we didn't leave the home. We had they stay from Friday night to Sunday morning, the cleaning crew was supposed to be there Saturday morning.Once we came back and noticed they never came we didn't have time to leave. Where would we put 14 of us?”
