Dawson & Deaton Holding Company's guest rating of 4.75 is below average and may adversely impact performance. “The host was communicative through the booking process and moved us to a larger condo when our original unit was sold. The extra space was appreciated, and the Pac-Man arcade game was a fun surprise that our kids enjoyed. Unfortunately, the condo didn't meet our expectations. While it appeared surface clean and we didn't encounter pests, it needed a much deeper cleaning. There was visible buildup in corners, black mold beneath the master shower caulking, worn linens with some stains, limited kitchenware, and very few starter supplies. After our stay, I shared this feedback privately. The host explained his team is available to address concerns during a stay. While I appreciate his response, our concerns were with the overall condition of the condo. Traveling with two young children, coordinating with extended family, we didn't feel that interrupting our vacation for additional cleaning or another move was a practical solution. We enjoyed Myrtle Beach, but this condo wasn't a fit for us”airbnb

“MOLD. Unfortunately we left early as the mold was too much. I understand beach properties in this type of setting can be difficult but there was visible disgusting mold growing out of all the returns. Additionally, the master bedroom closet has dark mold growing over half the ceiling. The AC unit door was locked so it was impossible to examine but I’m sure it’s horrendous. Even my five year-old daughter looked at the vent before we said anything and said that’s disgusting. We sent photos about the mold issue and the host sent a message saying they would send maintenance to check it out. Maintenance showed up while we were gone, entered, sprayed the mold with bleach and scrapped it clean. We messaged back saying the bleach was overwhelming and doesn’t address the problem. The host never really addressed again. Additionally damage the main bedroom floor has two large bumps and chipping flooring makes walking to the bathroom a hazerd, not to mention the breaking shower door.”airbnb

“So overall, it was a good stay with cool air, hot showers, and a short walk to the beach with great amenities. However, this unit could definitely use some TLC. There were some broken blinds, the queen bed was hard and uncomfortable, one of the bedroom tvs were unusable, each bathroom only got one roll of toilet paper for a 4 night stay which would’ve been fine if it was a new fresh roll but it wasn’t. We had trouble checking in because we didn’t receive the code and we couldn’t get a response from the host via messaging, we had to call almost an hour after our check in time to get a code. Our first code didn’t work so we had to call again and get another code. Despite everything, we had a good stay and a wonderful time.”airbnb

“Larry was very responsive and did an average job at determining what some of our issues were upon arrival and whether or not he would have them fixed. -Bathroom liner had mold growing across the bottom. Had replaced 2 days later -Master bathroom liner had been a cat dressed for Christmas. Replaced. -kitchen does not have working wine fridge, not a single oven mit, the largest pan for primary stove use had chipping paint, most of the oven accessories had food stuck to it from previous renters -some outlets didnt work -lamp in master doesn’t have a finger knob to turn the light on and off -deadbolt didn’t work on back door, which was later turned upside down by maintenance, causing us safety/privacy concern -blind damage -sheets felt “used” and there were stains on the double bed mattress protector -hair on all bedding -doable walk to the beach, but not ideal with kids under 12 or elderly -laundry room has 2/4 washers and dryers out Ok otherwise, kitchen counters a plus. Great tv.”airbnb

“very nice condo. good location. only issue we had was the LAX company takes the entire beach front of the resort places chairs and umbrellas for people to rent. We got up early put our 2 chairs and umbrella out front of our room and went out found the guy setting up chairs and umbrellas up he tossed our aside. He then told us they have it set up with the resort the place the rentable chairs and umbrellas there we have to sit behind them. We brought our granddaughters ages 7 and 8 with us. My husband and I both have arthritis bad and having to walk down past the resort in the sand was a hassle. If we had known this we would have never rented this condo. This is a deal breaker for us we won't be back. Its a shame its a really nice resort”airbnb

“This apartment was terrible dirty floors when we took our socks off our feet were black, the lock on the door wouldn’t work so no locking the door at night or when you leave. When we first got there I put my 2 year old in the bath tub and she almost got scolded by the water because the water had no cold working. I found a bed bug crawling up my bed and killed it. Terrible I wish for a refund”airbnb

“The property was clean and otherwise met our expectations. Unfortunately, the air conditioning stopped working during our stay, which made for a very uncomfortable night with unit getting to 78degrees. I’m currently 7 months pregnant, and there was only one fan available in a single room, so there wasn’t adequate air circulation throughout the house. While the AC was repaired the following day, I was disappointed that there was no offer of an emergency HVAC service, additional fans, or any other accommodations while we waited for the repair. The situation caused a lot of stress for my family, and my daughter was so worried about the AC failing again that she did not want to stay the following night. I understand that unexpected maintenance issues happen, and I do appreciate that the AC was ultimately fixed. However, I feel the response to the situation could have been more proactive, which is why I’m unable to leave a 5-star review.”airbnb

“We were given the wrong address, the last staying there was nice to let us know we were given the wrong address but than her husband showed up and cussed us out and followed us out of the parking lot, made the host aware, host was very inconsiderate and dismissed our claims.”airbnb
