Crashing Wave Rentals's guest rating of 4.70 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“Rental unit was clean, but could use some updating. No dishwasher resulted in us buying paper plates, cups, utensils as we did not want to hand wash dishes, etc. Furniture, kitchen, bathroom were all dated and need attention. Location of property was good. Pool area was well maintained but DJ music was so loud you could hardly talk to person next to you (know not a specific issue of rental unit, but worth noting). Pool area chaise lunges were incredibly uncomfortable (laying directly on hard plastic not ideal). We did find someone's used bathing suit on balcony and top drawer in bedroom contained men’s socks, underwear, etc. These I am guessing were left behind from previous renters but does make one wonder how thoroughly unit was cleaned when these items were not discovered and removed.”airbnb

“Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else. I thought it’s a little outdated but given its location and the resort amenities, it would be a good budget pick. Boy, was I wrong! The second you open the door, the whole place stinks like an ashtray. Then in the living room, you can clearly see that the entire ceiling has a mold problem that someone tried to cover up with additional coats of paint instead of actually addressing the issue. This place is filthy from the floors, to the furniture, right up to the dishes and pots and pans within the cupboards. Pots and pans had stuck on food and rust all over them. The dishes and glasses had dry juice and food on them. The bathroom sink didn’t work at all. And the bathtub is dirty. And the worst part? The host does not care. Needless to say, I took pictures and videos and Airbnb refunded me my money. I would not recommend anyone to stay here unless they want to spend the first day of their vacation trying to find a new place.”airbnb

“This is our second time staying at brads place, and we absolutely love the location, the other guests we’ve met at the pool, and the home itself. Brad did some renovations in the last year, and they were lovely! The reason for the 3 star review is the AC unit in the main living space. It is fit for a commercial AC, but someone put in a window unit, fitting the holes with HVAC tape, and while the AC was running nonstop, it never got below 75 degrees in the living room, and smaller bedroom. I messaged Brad on our first day, and never heard a word back, even though we rented his place for 12 total days. It was 100+ degrees with the heat index, and the only space that was cool was the master bedroom. I’m very disappointed in the lack of communication by Brad, and the carelessness of the wrong AC unit being installed. If it’s not different next summer, unfortunately, we will have to find a condo better suited to handle the summer heat.”airbnb

“This was by far the worst experience I’ve had here. The air conditioning barely worked leaving the room unbearably hot. We woke up drenched in sweat and the only solution offered by the host was a small fan. The property itself was in terrible condition with mold on the ceilings, chipped paint all over the walls, and sand literally everywhere even in the bed linens which made it feel like the room hadn’t been properly cleaned before our arrival. To make matters worse, half of the power in the unit stopped working leaving us without electricity in parts of the rental for several hours before the issue was finally resolved. After everything we dealt with I reached out to the host requesting a full refund and never even received the courtesy of a response. As someone who has stayed here many times before, I am incredibly disappointed by the lack of upkeep and communication. This experience was completely unacceptable & the way our concerns were handled or rather ignored, was even worse.”airbnb

“This place was DISGUSTING. I stayed at Beach Cove last year with Big Fish Rentals and they were at least clean… this unit was listed as having a murphy bed, pull out couch, and 2 queens… no murphy bed was there. We had to buy an air mattress and BARELY had room. The beds were broken, kitchen chairs broken, balcony door handle broken, balcony chairs and table FILTHY and left residue on your clothing when you sat, the couch and chairs were stained. I took pictures of everything. There was trash WITH MOLD AND FOOD under the bed and behind the dresser. It remained moist and moldy in the unit, literal water droplets coming from ceiling.. mold in the shower, dirt all over the floors, our feet were BLACK, no exaggeration. Entry door to unit did not shut all the way unless you shoulder checked it. The remote for the TV in the bed room did not work, even with new batteries. This was the most uncomfortable and dirty condo I’ve been in, I could not even sit on the furniture… makes you feel gross.”airbnb

“Before even arriving, we already had a bad vibe as the host kept bombarding us with messages saying that for a fee we could stay longer, for a fee we could o early check-in/check-out. It felt like a business transaction right from the getgo. After 20 minutes in, we contacted the host and Airbnb to ask for a full refund as the place was disgusting. He agreed which seemed fair as we shared pictures of the dirty apartment we found. There's no way we could stay in this. The place was filthy : - We found food all over the floor, stains and crumbs all over the couch / chairs, dirty windows, FILTHY floor. We wiped the floor to show our host the dirty, the tissue was black after one swipe ! We didn't even make it to the bedrooms as the living room was disgusting.”airbnb

“The couch and chairs in the living room were extremely worn and nasty. They need replacing but at the least a deep upholstery cleaning. Some of the burners on the stove didn't work. The fridge was not very cold. I messaged Brad about the couch and chairs and he said that the owners have the place up for sale and are not willing to spend any money on furniture however it doesn't cost much to do deep upholstery cleaning. I live on a farm so I'm used to dirt. I'm not a germiphobe and I did not even want to sit on that nasty couch. Because we booked through Airbnb the staff was quite rude. Probably will not stay here again.”airbnb

“The place is nice, but killing roaches in the middle of the night is not my idea of a good time. Hopefully he fixed the dripping bathtub faucet. There is currently construction going on around the property, including the pier, which is supposed to be part of the view. The balcony is not private so be prepared to hang out with your neighbors.”airbnb

“The location and size of unit were good, but we had several issues with the Airbnb. We were in town for scheduled events during our stay and I was not able to look for another place to stay. Nor did I want to pack up my whole family and move to another location. •When we arrived the unit smelled like marijuana. So much so that we had to buy air fresheners. •There were dirty underwear under the bed. •Broken coffee mug behind that same bed. •Floors were filthy. The floors were so dirty our socks were black. •The top shelf of the refrigerator continually collected puddles of water. •Both coffee pots were beyond gross. We couldn’t use either one. •When we would shut the bathroom door the door to the air vent would fall and the filter would fly out. The first time it happened it hit my husband in the head. I wish I could have let him know during our stay, but we were far too busy. I did notify after in case he was unaware, but not even an apology for the condition.Just easy fix thanks”airbnb
