“Great stay & location for our pre cruise stay!”

“The house was nice and cosy. Though smaller than we had expected. One thing that was disappointing was that it was located next to a treatment facility and so the area outside the house wasn’t the nicest to be in. Further the wifi was completely unusable which was disappointing. Further the bedroom door was faulty and kept rolling back and the lights in the kitchen were also faulty and kept flashing. Though the house was as described. Just a disappointment considering the price.”

“Location was by far the best part about this stay! Right downtown within walking distance to many restaurants, shops, and the waterfront. A short drive to many hiking trails as well. The downside to the location was that it above a bar that played loud music, sometimes till almost 2 am. The walls were very thin as well, and we could hear other guests full conversations when they were in the hallways. We had requested the beds be made into a king bed but we arrived to two twins, which we ended up pushing together. Met our needs for our trip and spent most of our time exploring Seward.”

“Great location! Floors extremely unlevel, beds (2 double) were on rickety frames and had little space to get around them. Wasn’t very clean on arrival. No willingness accommodate to check in early. Others guest noise when arriving at all hours is loud and they always had issues finding their door.”

“I understand it’s an old building but you have to invest in a decent bed. The frame was so rickety it felt like I was sleeping on a water bed. I thought it might collapse at any second.”

“Not worth the price we paid. The house and its furnishings are very old and need to be updated. The house has a noticeable musty smell, likely from the old couch and carpet. Although the house had clearly been surface cleaned, it needs a thorough refresh to be worth the amount the host charges. It’s also not very comfortable for a long stay. There is nowhere to unpack clothes (no hangers, very limited shelves), so you’ll end up with your clothes staying stacked in your suitcase the whole time. There wasn’t one big overall thing that made our stay unpleasant; it was little things that cumulatively added up. Lastly, the host was very slow to respond, especially in the app. The only way to get a somewhat timely response was via text, which feels icky to me. The battery was dead on the front door lock and it took several hours to get a response about it. When she finally gave a time to come fix it, she was several hours late. Would not stay here again.”

“Surprised at how old and not updated the unit was. No laundry facilities was a big deal for us. Broken recliner and sofa bed that was broken. Futons are really not beds except for toddlers. Twin mattresses were very hard. Surprised there was no exit out the back door. It was locked to a storage room. In case of fire we would have been trapped in that house. Front entry was the only way in and out. Several windows you could not get out of either. Lack of closets, shelving in bathrooms made it difficult to get ready with toiletries. Weird contact paper on windows? Half curtains? Great that it was within walking distance of most everything. Great neighborhood. Plenty of towels. Kitchen was adequate but all the small appliances and pots and pans very old. Just need to update. I realize it was an older house but could have updated in ways to make it more accommodating.”

“Location was perfection! Spectacular view of the mountains and location was walkable to the harbor and to the downtown area. The overall house was spacious and nicely appointed. However, with a family of five, we needed two bathrooms and we were disappointed in the bathroom in the lower level. The shower was very tiny, and it had mold in it and the toilet repeatedly did not flush properly. Although Ristine did address this flaw in the property and is going to get it repaired, they only offered a very small portion of money back and only after we asked. This property was touted as a 5-star property. The location of the property was 5 stars, but one bathroom was unusable and the other needed an update.”

“We loved the home itself and the location was perfect. We were in walking distance to everything we wanted to do, temperature was easy to control and the bed might be the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in. I was very excited to use the Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom, but the jets were very dirty and moldy (which I discovered only after filling the tub and turning them on.) By the time I drained it and filled it up again the hot water had run out and I was quite disappointed. Also the listing said pet friendly, but after booking we got a note saying no pets allowed and when I asked for clarification I did not get a reply. We ended up boarding our dog but it would have been nice to know for certain. Other than that it was a really lovely stay and we would return.”

“Ristine was very nice. But one of the 2 beds was broken and unusable, the bathtub drain did not work, the BBQ grill could fit maybe 2 hotdogs. All issues were brought to the attention of Ristine and company but nothing got fixed or corrected. There was no coffee or filters for the coffee pot, no wood for the bonfire pit, the outside area was dirty. I felt we were overcharged and ripped off. I could not recommend it.”
