“Location is great round some of the best restaurants in Charleston. Unfortunately, our room garbage disposal didn’t work. There was no dishwasher in it even though we noticed there was one in all of the other units and I noticed a little mold in the bathroom. The bedding was clean and comfortable.”

“The location was great. We enjoyed Baba’s, Annie Mae’s, and Holey Bagels for breakfast or a coffee and desert. Each are literally just a few steps away from the room. We walked all the way down King Street and enjoyed so much of the historic city. It was lovely to just stroll all day! The apartment was as described. The bathroom is exceptionally small and tight. The winding stairs to the bedroom were not ideal especially because the bathroom was on the lower level. Overall I would stay here again, but only for a night or two.”

“I had problems with this property from day one: I found trash by the door, a wasp inside the unit, and a wasp nest outside. I messaged the host, who said they would resolve the issue but never did. The next day, the entire unit lost water, and I was never notified of the outage. I also found cockroaches, and the trash issue with the neighbors got so bad that the whole apartment smelled terrible. I couldn't leave because I had too much luggage I was in the middle of closing on my own house. I recommend that no one stay there.”

“Unfortunately, our planned week-long stay became extremely stressful. The first property was nothing like the photos, was extremely small, and the gate code didn’t work, so we had to rely on another guest to let us in. After expressing our concerns, management was accommodating and moved us to a “sister property,” which was much nicer. However, after arriving, we were told cats were not allowed and given only 30 minutes to make other arrangements and vacate. After already spending four hours in the car with our cat, we had to pack everything up and move again. While searching for another place, we had to keep him in an unfamiliar bathroom, where he hid under the vanity and became extremely stressed. The resulting stress required veterinary care costing over $400. I contacted about the situation of request to vacate, but a week later, I still have received no response. The lack of communication and the unnecessary stress, expense, and inconvenience were extremely disappointing.”

“I rented this place for 3 of my employees and one of there vehicles got broken into there tool box. Took all his tools. The place is ok for temporary stay but its hard to come back to an area where you got your stuff broken into. Other then that my guys enjoyed there stay and liked the pool area. And the other issue they don’t close the gates so anyone can walk in the area. My guys mention the place had everything they needed to make there meals and clean and surprisingly no odor.”

“Find somewhere else to stay. The room and linens had a bad odor, bathtub had dark stains, I went through a scavenger hunt to register myself, my vehicle and download an app to be able to operate the gate that’s stuck open. People sitting shirtless smoking and drinking. Not a good atmosphere, not a good room.”

“Great for short-term stays but not the best for long-term. I was here 2 months for work and felt that my stay was decent. I loved the location; it's extremely walkable and just far enough from King Street to not hear all of the bargoers. My biggest complaint was the garbage being directly outside the unit's door. I had multiple flies and cockroaches come inside the unit, and a rat almost ran inside when I got back from work one day. Additionally, some of the amenities were not functional. The Wi-Fi never worked even after the property manager said it was replaced. The laundry was outside and always had clothes left inside that I was explicitly told I was not allowed to remove. Plus, even though a second, indoor (and very loud) laundry machine was in the room behind the unit, it wasn't allowed to be used. Also, the plumbing smelled, and the pipes once flooded the parking lot with feces and used toilet paper. These are fixable issues for a better space. Fun for one week, not multiple.”

“Felt unsafe, high drug presence, cockroaches, sketchy area to put it politely. If the host/ AirBnB didn’t make it awkward/ impossible to check out early I would have done. It’s a shame pictures cannot be shared here.”

“We didn't feel safe trying to find the right unit at night. The security gate was broken, and it was not clear which apartment we were supposed to go to, or even which building. We left and found a hotel. CHC wouldn't refund our payment even though we never stayed there and described the problem. We even took pictures! STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU DON'T STAY HERE!”

“We did not feel safe at this property, it was dirty and run down, the check in process was arduous and we immediately left to find a hotel nearby. I was told they would refund me "no problem" then they pivoted and told me to contact air bnb that they could not just "send me the refund" though thats how air bnb works, so they lied as well. I would not recommend this place to anyone traveling to Austin for an enjoyable stay. Its more a place for the destitute to find some shelter, but this property should not be offered on air bnb! Beware!”
