Canaan Vacation Homes
4.75
Canaan Vacation Homes's guest rating of 4.75 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“Whole house was tile but there is a strict no shoe rule. We asked about cushions for back porch area and they never responded. Deer in the association come charging at you when walking. Raccoons lurk Confusing tv use so we didn’t use. The home was nice. Ice trays would be nice.”airbnb

“We needed a clean place to shower and sleep while we spent all day everyday at the parks. The master bath tub/shower is a very strange design that is dangerous/difficult to get in and out of. We were only provided ONE towel per person for a nine day stay!! The last thing we wanted to mess with on our vacation was laundry, yet we had to wash towels several times after a long day at the parks. When I requested more towels the owners informed me that we had access to the washer. This would most definitely keep us from returning as it was a major inconvenience. It was a convenient and safe location, across the street from Old Town (rides, clubs and restaurants) and a short easy drive to the Disney Parks.”airbnb

“Not very satisfied. They did not tell us anything about getting a parking pass from the staff at front desk, even they were shocked our host didn’t tell us anything. Also there were questionable stains of red on the bedding that looked to be blood and they couldn’t change it because the cleaning staff wasn’t there. You would think being charged a cleaning free your stuff would get clean but no!”airbnb

“Unfortunately, this property fell well below expectations. On arrival, it was visibly unclean, with mould in the shower, food residue on surfaces, dust and food on floors, dead insects in the patio door runner, stained bedding, and a dirty patio area that we did not feel was safe for our children to use. A cleaner attended after we complained, but the standard of cleaning was poor and most issues remained. As a result, we left early and paid for alternative accommodation. Very disappointing experience.”airbnb

“DO NOT BOOK THIS HOME!! This place does not look like none of the pictures 0/10. When we first arrived the house looked nice. Of course we notice EVERYTHING PIECE OF FURNITURE looked as if it came off the street stained, discolored, peeling, and DIRTY. But we were like ok we will disregard that, the host came to the house to replace a broken grill that they charge $70 to use lol. But the problem began when I took my bags to the room and the cover looked dirty, pulled the sheets back and they looked the same in EVERY ROOM and the pool was dirty as well. Spoke with the host they had “cleaners” come out and replace the sheets ONLY the sheets. Then the master bed on the second floor the bed is ON THE FLOOR and put together wrong. The co-host did offer for maintenance to come fix it but didn’t know the hours and I declined cause who wants a random person to come into the house to fix something when all of our belongs are there unattended. I also declined because how are you not here check”airbnb

“It was a decent stay aside of the linen fiasco we endured.”airbnb

“We booked this house for a large group and while the home itself was nice, spacious, and matched the photos, the overall experience was frustrating at times. The biggest issue was parking. The listing stated additional cars could park at the clubhouse, but after arriving we were told Airbnb guests were not allowed to park there. Since overnight street parking is prohibited due to HOA rules, we were left to figure it out ourselves. We also had constant issues with security access because we were never informed that every guest needed to be registered and approved ahead of time. For the first few days, getting in and out of the neighborhood was a hassle, and security stopped us almost every time. Delivery drivers were also denied entry unless specifically added by the host. Once everyone was finally added to the list, things improved. Overall, we still enjoyed the house and amenities, but communication and organization could definitely be better.”airbnb

“Fire I had trouble with the stove and I let them know on the first day that the stove wasn’t working and they did nothing about it until the last day. It was much smaller than expected. Definitely not how it looks on photos. I just think for $600 you could find a better place just being honest I would not stay here again.”airbnb

“After multiple times reaching out to front desk and hosts, about construction the noise. Being told there’s nothing they can do. They can make noise. Not a peaceful or relaxing stay. Also the smell in the hallway when you get off the elevator is horrible.”airbnb

“GUEST BEWARE!! This property is advertised as “newly renovated,” which is misleading. Aside from newer flooring, the unit shows clear wear. Walls, fixtures, appliances, and finishes are dated, and the furniture is mismatched, worn, and damaged. Listing photos do not reflect the actual condition. While superficially clean, the strong bleach odor was overwhelming, and common areas had unpleasant smells. We booked for the indoor pool due to cold weather, but visible debris in the pool and especially the hot tub made them unusable. On day two, we were told pesticides would be sprayed inside the unit with no prior disclosure, and the building water was shut off from 10 AM to 4 PM. The couch was broken despite prior reviews stating it had been repaired. Drains were clogged with hair, toilets barely flushed, windows would not open, and balcony guardrails were secured with anchors that did not appear permanent. Even the new towels were not pre-washed and shed lint. Overall, disappointing!”airbnb
