Birdy Vacation Rentals

Birdy Vacation Rentals's guest rating of 4.69 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

Pros: place was in a peaceful location, the beds were comfortable and the house was as described. The bathrooms were clean and there were games you could play if you wanted. For the price, it was okay. Cons: the place could’ve been cleaner overall. The backyard fence was broken to where the neighbors could see into the backyard and vise versa, chairs in backyard were flipped over upon arrival and the grill was not usable. The extra comforter had old stains on it. The washer drain and spin cycle didn’t work. I seen in a previous review that the dishwasher was broken and it is still broken with food stains and old water inside of it. Nothing interrupted our stay and we still enjoyed it but the house needs to be taken care of a bit more.

We booked this place last minute for travel plan changes. When we booked it said we could check in an hour later so we assumed they needed to get it ready. We got there and the AC hadn’t been turned on so it was warm but also the AC didn’t work properly and took all night to cool down. The bathroom had hair on the floor when we got there. The toilet paper holder was also missing from the wall, and toilet paper was way in the corner on a table not able to reach from toilet. Had to drag the table closer to the toilet to have accessible toilet paper. The sink in the bathroom had a bad faucet fitting so it sprayed everywhere when using. The outside patio had bird poop all over chairs so not usable. The pictures of the place look beautiful and make it look well taken care of but there are a lot of cosmetic things that need fixing/cleaning/updating. Thankfully since it was last minute booking it was a little cheaper but it was still way overpriced for what you got.

Located in a quiet area & close enough to main st. Excellent ceiling fans! The place was cozy and cute. I enjoyed my stay asides from the issue we had with having to figure out the tv with no remote control as none of the hosts could figure out what happened to the remote. It was nowhere to be found, my husband almost flipped the place upside down looking for it and all the hosts could say was “housekeeping said it was there” oh okay but it wasn’t so?? There was no hot water in the kitchenette sink, but no big deal, the restroom did have hot water. We informed hosts immediately after noticing a few cleanliness issues like small spiders and bug smudges on the restroom walls. Shower wasn’t the cleanest either. There were also stains on the comforter. There was no resolution offered for any of our issues, the hosts kind of just give an automated response saying they will forward the information to management. All in all, great place but room for improvement.

The location and aesthetic were excellent—I really appreciated the overall theme and design of the space. The property was also very clean, and the bedding was comfortable, which made for a pleasant stay in that regard. Unfortunately, I did encounter a few issues during my visit. Several doors would stick and required force to open, which was inconvenient. Additionally, there were leaks in both restrooms that prevented us from being able to shower. The air conditioning also did not cool below 72°F, making it uncomfortable while getting ready. Communication was not particularly helpful when addressing these concerns and responses were late (both times I reached out, it was pretty late, not completely their fault). Overall, while the property has great potential, these issues impacted the experience.

The property had a few maintenance and cleanliness issues that made the stay less comfortable than expected. There were noticeable areas of damage, including around the doorknob and some marks/stains on the walls. The yard was also quite overgrown. Additionally, I did see a roach in one of the kitchen drawers, which was concerning from a cleanliness standpoint. Overall, the property could benefit from better upkeep and attention to detail to meet typical expectations for a rental.

We had to change the batteries for tv remote in main room then couldn’t get any tv’s to stream with my ATT Uverse account. Ceiling fan/light in queen bedroom didn’t work. I guess that needed new battery as well. The house was hot because the air kept reverting to the temperature set by homeowner. Loud music was heard until about midnight Friday night. A deep beat that was annoying.

Wrote their own cancellation policy which was confusing and deceptive. You should not be able to write and make up your own policy which goes along the lines of "you get back 50% of the unused days, beyond 24 hours after you cancel". This leaves the impression that you can actually stay for that first 24 hours, but no, they keep 66% of the money paid for a 5 day stay and give you NOTHING, you must vacate immediately. Why would I ever enter the property, cancel, and accept that? On top of that, they had a change policy which stated changes could be made until April 4. But then when I tried to change it and make a change effective April 1 or 2 or 3, all of them indicated those days weren't available to make changes. But you don't find that out until after you've booked with them. Very shady keeping almost $600 and letting me have nothing in return. Oh, and the security gate is broken. Anyone can just walk onto the property at any time. Not a good thing in this neighborhood.

I have never left a negative review before, but I feel I must warn future travelers about this place. Despite the good reviews I saw, the reality was a complete disaster. The apartment was in an unacceptable state and clearly had not been cleaned properly before our arrival. In addition to that, both the AC and the refrigerator were extremely loud, making it impossible to sleep properly. Even the blankets had a terrible stench. The worst part, however, was the lack of communication and resolution. We spent an entire morning waiting for a solution that never came. Because we needed a guaranteed and safe place to sleep for the remainder of our trip, we had no choice but to involve Airbnb support and cancel the reservation. It is very frustrating to have your travel plans ruined by a host who doesn't prioritize basic hospitality standards. I would not recommend staying here if you are looking for a reliable or clean accommodation.

Everything was great except we spent over a day without the use of a toilet. It was clogged and the host could not get maintenance to come out and address the issue. I got a call from the maintenance person the afternoon around 3 after our 11 AM checkout. It was extremely inconvenient to not have a functioning toilet for most of our 2 day stay.
