Bear Camp Cabin Rentals
4.51Visit website
Bear Camp Cabin Rentals's guest rating of 4.51 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“This listing is not accurately described. The pictures are misleading in regard to the location. There is no mountain view at all. It’s also a fairly noisy rental community. It even seems like the pavilions, grilling area and pickleball court are used by the public too. There was a full on party on my 2nd night. The kitchenette has no dishes, only glassware and silverware. The cabin itself was exactly as pictured and I enjoyed the stay. However, it’s not mentioned that there are two units and the walls are very thin. I could hear the person in the other unit snoring. I booked this cabin for a quiet, mountain reading retreat and it didn’t quite meet that need. I didn’t need it much but just a note: the wi-fi did not work either.”airbnb

“Bear camp rentals were fine but the owner did not respond timely and we had no wifi, no way to watch the 5 TV’s and the theater room. Night before we checked out they increased the data. The hot tub was very dirty and the water smells like rotten eggs in every bathroom and faucet.”airbnb

“While our stay at the Airbnb had such an amazing view the inside didn’t meet our expectations. For how much we paid we are deeply disappointed with how unclean the Airbnb was! First off there was leftover food in the freezer. Second the clean dishes in the cabinet were not clean at all. The very first dish we grabbed had icing and crumbs on it. While the rest of the dishes had grind on them. So they were not clean properly. We didn’t feel comfortable using some of the dishes so we had to go grab some paper plates and cups!! Such an inconvenience. Third most of the bathrooms were dirty. Whether that was hair in the sink/drain so it wouldn’t drain properly. Cleaning products stains in the bathroom shower as if they did not scrub it but just left it there! Fourth they was a dead cockroach on one of the bunk-beds. And finally the hot tub was dirty! When we tried to go in it there was dirt at the bottom. Therefore we didn’t feel comfortable going inside. Will not be coming back.”airbnb

“Horrible sewer smell , Tub water ran brown/orange color, water in bathrooms doesnt get hot even on the hottest setting, Gauze pad stuck to the floor, No couch the chairs provided were superrrr uncomfortable just very out-dated furniture, no enough towels given for the bathrooms, out-dated bedding, no hand-soap for the kitchen or either of the bathrooms, water pressure was horrible. It wasnt worth the money at all. I do not recommend!”airbnb

“Generally speaking, it suited our needs. Major issues included: 1. Food & trash in pull out bed upon arrival. 2. Giant sticky spots downstairs on floor - everything that touched it stuck. 3. Blankets provided, but wish there were more. Smelled like they don't get washed between stays. Lesser inconveniences included: 4. Broken blinds in some rooms 5. No salt, pepper, oil, charcoal, or any other thing that is not explicitly listed in their description of the house. 6. Downstairs door that connects to the porch where the hot tub is would not open. 7. They warn you after you book, but you need to bring pool towels. Lastly, I didn't let this affect my review because I think it is AirBnB's fault, but this house is 13 miles (25-30 min drive) from where AirBnb shows it to be. This was frustrating as the trip was non-refundable & address is sent later. Spoke to AirBnb multiple times. Still not fixed. Overall, appears to be major disconnect between managers & what's actually occurring @ house”airbnb

“Be aware the house is located on the side of a busy Main Street. Cars, trucks and motorcycles buzz by throughout the day and night. You can hear the street sounds throughout the house & on the back deck. The house is about 10 feet off the road. The second bedroom is dark & musty, not attached to house. I called bear camp to express overall concerns. The supervisor was incredibly rude and unhelpful. I believe her exact quote several times was that she’s not responsible for traffic. Airbnb was incredibly helpful to resolve the issues. Very thankful for their services and saving the trip.”airbnb

“It’s a beautiful house with an amazing view and everything was clean. We specifically rented for the private boat dock to park a boat over night. The lake was low and dock was on land and unusable. I called and someone transferred me to a voicemail, and no one ever called me back. We had a boat and no where to park which was inconvenient. I feel that it should have been made clear the dock was unavailable. Also, zero flexibility with trying to get an early check in. The driveway is hard to find and very steep.”airbnb

“Disappointing experience. Two weeks before our trip we were told the original cabin we booked was no longer available because it had sold and that the new owners would not honor our reservation. After some research and speaking to a realtor we learned this was not true the owner had actually switched management companies' months prior. Bear camp rentals failed to disclose and waited until the last minute to inform us. Effectively trapping us into this rental, 2241 Legend Crest. The listing photos were nothing like the cabin in real life. We were duped by this cabin. The bunk room smelled awful, like sewage. Maintenance came multiple times, but nothing was actually fixed. There were beds that were in the listing photos but were nowhere in the rental. When addressed they said they'd be happy to send air mattresses. for a 5000$ rental. Infested with ants, dryer was clogged, leaking showers, brown water, rotting deck boards. Full review is on google. would not recommend this rental.”airbnb

“Avoid this place! Unless you enjoy hearing every word, every sneeze and every snore from the neighbors. The TV is on the common wall so you can hear every word from it too. There’s no words to describe how miserable this place is. Forgot the pretty creek what they don’t tell you is there’s a busy highway 50 feet behind it and it’s not the least bit peaceful. If you drive anything lower like a corvette you’ll hang up on the entrance and not be able to get there. When we had issues with the smoke alarms going off all night management didn’t care and expected me to climb up on furniture to disconnect them. We left and went to a hotel because it was impossible to sleep there and they wouldn’t refund us even one nights stay. There’s just no words to describe how terrible bear management is or miserable these units are. You have been warned!”airbnb
