Manager Review

Alpine Lodging Telluride

Alpine Lodging Telluride's guest rating of 4.56 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

Cheapest place that allowed dogs at $400 a night. Very dated hotel room and furniture.

We stayed at Bear Creek Lodge for five days, spending about two thousand dollars expecting a relaxing family vacation. One of the main reasons we chose this property was because of the pool. Unfortunately, while our children were swimming, they discovered feces in the pool and actually stepped in it. We understand accidents can happen, and the main reason we're leaving this review isn't the incident itself, but how it was handled afterward. We called several times, left messages, and sent messages through Airbnb asking when the pool would be safe to use again and what cleaning procedures had been completed, but we couldn't get a call back from the property manager or clear answers. We received conflicting information and were even told the pool had reopened when it had not. Because of this, our kids didn't get to swim for the rest of our stay. No one ever apologized or acknowledged what our family experienced. For the price we paid, we expected much better guest care and safety.

Overall this was the best value compared to other places in Telluride. It is small so I would recommend for two adults and at most two small children. My fault I did not read of no AC, they did provide a small fan, but if we would have known we would have brought one too. We did take advantage of the kitchenette and made breakfast each morning. Overall a good experience.

The listing did not mention massive construction site in development right beside the building. The noise starts at 7:00 am and is absolutely awful. We have stayed in Mountain Village many times before, and have had better price to value/space balance before, and we love the pedestrian location and the family and outdoor activities available in the area. Overall the condo is in a great location with the view of the main square, once the construction concludes, although a bit small when it comes to common areas (very small kitchen for a 3 brm place). Utensils are also quite sparse and mismatched. All communication is also routed through two layers of agents, and might not even reach the actual owners..

Pretty basic stay, the chat feature through the Airbnb app is an automatic response so not helpful, but if you call mountainside in directly they are helpful.

The room needs an upgrade given the price point.

I had to rate them one star because of their refund policy. I get the no refunds policy but we had a medical emergency that prevented us from reaching the destination. No consideration given even though I offered to provide medical records for proof. So thanks for the compassion. Maybe a little empathy to folks who have a terrible situation they are dealing with is in order?

We stayed for 3 nights and were very disappointed, especially given the cost. The biggest issue was cleanliness. We found food and dog kibble under the bed and dresser, and a dirty towel left in the bathroom. It did not feel like the unit had been properly cleaned, which is unacceptable at this price point. We did not report this during the stay because we arrived shortly before a scheduled event and did not have time to coordinate with a third-party management company. We chose to clean it ourselves rather than disrupt our plans, but this is not something guests should have to deal with. After checkout, we were told a “partial refund” was issued, but it only covered pet and parking fees. We were charged for parking despite not having a car and being told we wouldn’t be charged, so that should have been refunded regardless. No additional compensation was offered for the cleanliness issues. Overall, this did not meet expectations and I would not stay here again.

The lodge was great, very friendly people! Next time we will book directly with them. Our only complaint is with the listing company, Red Awning. They didn’t send the check-in direction email as one of the beginning messages mentioned. Also, there were too many messages and excessive / repetitive information, it was hard to sift through and find the pertinent information for our trip.
