Manager Review

Akers Ellis

Akers Ellis's guest rating of 4.77 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

This place was outstanding! Gorgeous finishings and very modern and clean! Everything is walkable from the beach to the pool. It was the perfect location and fit for our family! Would definitely recommend!

The house was nice but could use some updates. The primary bedroom had a bed that was so high an average person would have to jump onto it to get in! Overall our stay was good, we enjoyed the house. There was some mess that may have been missed from the cleaners- old coffee in the machine, some trash on the deck and there were roaches too. The stairs leading to the house could use more lighting and is definitely a trip hazard for anyone with mobility issues.. but overall the house was cozy, and not too far from the beach! We had a good time, and enjoyed our stay!

Very disappointed in the quality of the condo. Furniture was so old that kitchen chairs actually smell musty. Condo needs attention! Missing cabinet door, broken security latch, rusty furnishes, headboard in master is peeling and is very uninviting, pots and pans were so scratched the Teflon was peeling off, not even salt and pepper were provided, the secondary bathroom tile was old and missing grouting. The kitchen was nice and finished well, however the stove numbers were so worn we could not see the settings. This condo had a fantastic location and good bones. However it needs a bit more TLC. This was not the expectation we had for a place on the beach in Kiawah.

Great location and the access was easy. Place is okay, pretty dated and needs to be cleaned up (lots of stains on carpet, etc…). For the price we paid I would have expected a bit more, but overall had a fun time. The beach rental credit was a very nice perk.

I SLEPT IN MY CAR because the lock code stopped working around 11:45 pm. I contacted Akers Ellis and they did not respond until 9am. AirBnB was no help. Akers Ellis would not call a locksmith because the owner was “trying” to get the lock to work. Finally at 2pm I was allowed in the property after a locksmith completely replaced the deadbolt lock. By then I had a horrible migraine with no access to my prescriptions. I missed an entire day of my work conference I drove 5 hours each way to attend. I received a refund but it does not feel like enough.

The place was as described. The bed was very comfortable. Communication was challenging with repeated requests to provide personal email ahead of the stay as well as unclear check out instructions.

Great location. Unit not great. Stains on sofa and rugs. Peeling plastic off coffee table. Outdoor furniture covered in mildew. Mildew in shower stall. Outdoor porch unswept with debris and dust all over. Rug in living area doesn’t even fit! Rolled up edges by wall. Not the “completely renovated” look we were expecting.

The location is beautiful. The house was dirty, bugs in drawers, and food stains in the kitchen. When the cleaning crew was sent back in they said the place needs deep cleaning. The house it self is beautiful but the yard has not been maintained in a long time, the table outside was rusted, the grass is non-existant and not clean. The thermostat in main living area did not work and the service team came on the last day of our stay to repair it, the management company arguing there are other thermostats in the house. The pool required a $300 charge and the second day the pool heater did not turn on and the water was cold. When we raised this to the management company they did not come to address the issue until the next day, but I WAS charged for that second day.
