“Great location! Just a 10 min walk down to a dog-friendly beach and coffee shop. The kitchen was very well appointed with gadgets, and we thoroughly enjoyed breakfasts and dinners on the back deck. We had a great family vacation!”

“No A/C. Gets hot at night; we stayed in the beginning of August. The sheets were saturated in a fabric softener smell. We had to put our clothes on the pillows to sleep— it was such an intense smell. We left the windows open during the day to run to the store. It was so hot. I got a message asking to close the windows while we were out. It made us feel like we were under surveillance. I also got way too many texts from this host. I couldn’t relax. The neighbors left a sticky note on our door asking to turn off the porch light. We ignored it because having the light on at night is for safety, and honestly not our problem that they were bothered by the properties porch light. Lastly, we had to take out all of the trash and put it into the bear box. If the host is so close, they should be able to take out the trash. Especially for the price. Overall, I wouldn’t stay here again.”

“Overall, a great family/dog friendly home. Walkable neighborhood, ample space for group, nice backyard (though not fenced). Front area is just dirt - no landscaping. Dishes were somewhat minimal - just enough for one meal for 5 people then had to wash all to use for next meal. Really nice grill and nice open garage space.”

“Great location just minutes from all the restaurants, shops, and activities in Tahoe City. The house is charming, clean, and thoughtfully decorated. I do miss details like bathroom and area rugs that most rentals don't include anymore. The back deck appears to be a new addition, and new lounge furniture was delivered during our stay, making it an inviting spot to relax and enjoy the evenings. We visited during a stretch of 80+ degree weather, so the house was warm during the day without air conditioning. Fortunately, temperatures cooled off nicely at night, and with the fans provided, the home remained comfortable for sleeping.”

“The house is beautiful - and the setting was private and quiet. The deck in the morning and evening is lovely - a great place to gather. The house is good for a family of 4-5, but with beyond that or with grown kids it started to get a tight - the kid bedroom is small so not a lot of extra space to spread out. Not a show stopper because the house is great otherwise and the deck space makes up for it!”

“The house was wonderful. Fit our family well. We had everything we needed in the kitchen. Wonderful washer and dryer with soap provided. Wonderful outdoor space. The only negative was the temperature in the afternoon. It was at least 80 degrees from midafternoon to 7pm. It did cool down at night so sleeping good. Beautiful mornings. We are outdoors come back.”

“Location is good and convenient but the apartment itself is old and the furniture as well.”

“The only downside is we weren’t able to turn on the AC during peak summer weather. There were instructions that said it was due to pipes freezing and we had to keep the heater on so the home was extremely hot. Do not recommend if you have small children with sensitive skin like mine! Another thing was the hot water ran out very quick. The jacuzzi tub was nice but you can’t fill it 1/3 of the way before you ran out of hot water. We were also out of hot water by the time my children had finished so my husband and I had to take some pretty freezing cold showers. Everything else was good!”

“The house was really cool with original stone fireplace and beamed ceiling. and I loved the deck! I was out there most of the time - so pleasant! there's a nice big tv in the living room and the 2 sliding doors to the huge deck were really nice for my dog to explore and then lounge out there in the sun. Also, the main bed was really nice and sheets were wonderfully silky... there was stale cigarette smoke smell though. The owners have a wonderful home but property management company needs to clean that smoke smell out and upgrade the towels to big fluffy ones - those are easy fixes. They should also let folks with groceries check in early since no one had booked the night before. oh - great location to get to skylandia beach - my dog's and my favorite!”
