Cute cabin and very peaceful. Very short drive to snowshoe and nearby hikes. Also very comfortable beds!

Overall, we absolutely loved this place. Very cozy cabin vibes. The only thing I will mention is, I’m not sure that the beds in the downstairs bedrooms are queens like Airbnb says… They are definitely full beds. There is a king bed upstairs, which was nice. Also, There were lots of flies. They started dying and were all over the windows by the time we left. Also a hornet got inside the cabin. I think that it is just not insulated very well so it’s easy for these bugs to get in. It did not ruin our save by any means, just worth mentioning.

We had a very good stay at this cabin in Slaty Fork and it worked well for our family of four on a ski trip to Snowshoe. The cabin is cozy, spacious, and comfortable. Beds were comfortable, with plenty of extra pillows and blankets. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware and basics, and coffee is provided, though counter space is limited if you plan to cook a lot. We stayed during an extreme cold spell (below 0°F at night). The bedrooms stayed comfortable, but the heat in the large living room struggled a bit in those conditions. We appreciated that Elevation Rentals checked in to make sure everything was okay. A few practical notes: it’s about 10 minutes to the base of the mountain but closer to 25 minutes to the ski lifts, so planning ahead helps. At the house itself, we had no trouble with AWD, but the driveway is somewhat steep and the walking path into the house wasn’t cleared. Overall, a solid, cute, comfortable cabin and a well-managed place for a Snowshoe trip.

I believe anyone traveling to snowshoe should be prepared with 4 wheel drive or snow chains. This is located on a gravel road for about 2.5 miles, be mindful that the blows can’t plow as close to gravel as they can asphalt as they’d hit dirt and remove all the gravel. the plows did do an excellent job of clearing the road though. host accommodated a late check out due to the weather in the area. we greatly appreciated that
