“We were a little surprised to find out the unit was a basement apartment, as that wasn't something we picked up on from the description when we booked. We also noticed the kitchen was missing a stove, which made cooking a bit more challenging than we'd anticipated during our stay. My kids were quite intrigued by the boarded-up playroom; they could actually peek through some gaps in the wood and see other kids playing, which I assume was from the upstairs unit. Speaking of upstairs, the family living there seemed really nice, but we did hear a fair bit of activity and banging around from the kids running, which was pretty noticeable.Honestly, had we known these details beforehand – about it being a basement apartment, the limited kitchen amenities, and having a family living directly above – we probably would have re-evaluated our booking for the price. One last thing that was a bit unexpected: the door code changed on us after the first night. We weren't given a new one automatically.”
