the space is indescribable and the hosts are responsive and helpful. there's no way to communicate what the space is like until you are there.

We had a wonderful stay. The house is incredibly private and peaceful, with plenty of amenities to enjoy. The highlight of the property was the beautiful view of the river, which made for a truly relaxing setting. The pool and hot tub were also fantastic, and we spent most of our time outdoors taking advantage of the scenery and amenities. While Marlboro itself is fairly quiet, Beacon is only about 25–30 minutes away and offers a great selection of restaurants, shops, and things to do. The hosts were very responsive and easy to communicate with throughout our stay. We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

Watching bald eagles perched in the backyard while overlooking the Hudson River from the back deck set the tone for an unforgettable stay. We spent four nights here as a couples getaway and found ourselves looking for reasons to stay on the property rather than venture out. The home is thoughtfully designed and beautifully furnished, with an elevated feel that is both comfortable and welcoming. The river views are spectacular from the deck and visible from many rooms throughout the house. The setting is also remarkably private, making it easy to relax and unwind. Communication from the team at Red Cottage was exceptional from start to finish. They were responsive, helpful, and made the entire experience seamless. I would highly recommend this property to couples, families, or small groups. If possible, plan to spend as much time at the house as you can;it’s truly the destination itself.

Nice enough, high design, but I wouldn't call it "luxe." The house was lovely, well stocked, cool view (some may be turned off by the giant mine across the river, but I dug it). Hosts were nice, responsive, gave clear instructions. But the pool was a disappointment! Smaller than it looks in the photos, full of leaves and bugs, tiles needed weeding, and worst of all, it was freezing! In their defense, we were there the first weekend of the season, heat had just been turned on, but I wish they'd got it going earlier, or at least told us in advance that it was cold so we didn't get our hopes up. Also, there were ants in one room, with poison bait traps where my kids could reach (!) and dead stink bugs throughout the house. The place was clean otherwise. Lastly, there's a construction site just above the house. Quiet during our stay, but potentially annoying. If money's no object, its a fine option for the area, but this was my first time in a "luxe" Airbnb, and I expected more.
