“This beautiful historical home is the perfect location if you want to experience living on an island in the thousand islands. Round Island is a magical location with many walking trails, historical roots in the Gilded Age and beautiful views. The home felt like you were walking back in time with all the original features. It has spacious bedrooms and beautiful open and screened porches to enjoy river life. The big deck and Adirondack chairs by the water were great for enjoying the boats and big ships sailing by and the swimming access points to the crystal clear waters of the St. Lawrence were perfect. We will admit that it was a little uncomfortable to have so many cameras on the property. We respect that they are up for security purposes, but to have them right on the porch from 2 angles made us uncomfortable. There were 3 others on the property that can alert you to anyone entering the property and coming up on the decks near the house.”

“The property is absolutely beautiful, perfectly situated with breathtaking views of the surrounding water. The boat docks were a highlight—well-maintained and easily accessible, making it a breeze to explore the island by water. I loved the big porch overlooking the water. The house itself is a charming, antique gem. It’s been lovingly preserved and is in fantastic condition, with a warm, vintage character that adds to its appeal. Every room felt like a step back in time. The beds were impeccably clean, with fresh linens that made for a comfortable night’s sleep. The house is enormous, offering an incredibly spacious layout with plenty of room to spread out and relax. Overall, this Airbnb was a perfect blend of historic charm and island serenity. I highly recommend staying here to explore the 1000 islands.”

“The St. Lawrence River is an amazing setting. Round island is an amazing place as well. This home is straight from the turn of the century 1900. It’s clearly a family home that has been treasured for over 100 years. That is also the difficult part. The house is filled with priceless antiques and family treasures. There is an inescapable sense of being careful with everything which makes it difficult to relax, especially with children at the home. In addition, as posted, they have outdoor cameras “for security”. However, I was contacted twice by the management company that the homeowner “noticed” that I was grilling in a spot where they left the grill. As well as that they “noticed” I left a light on outside. There was a definite sense that we were being watched carefully and that maybe the family isn’t ready to rent the property to others. Otherwise, the house is incredible, the location is incredible and the River is incredible.”
