Manager Review

Yellow Rose Vacation Rentals Real Estate

Yellow Rose Vacation Rentals Real Estate's guest rating of 4.67 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

The house was easy enough to find and the instructions to get there were straightforward. The driveway was paved the whole way, albeit rather steep. The house inside was very nice and is absolutely worth the stay. There is enough parking to accommodate a few vehicles or motorcycles.

The place had not been cleaned when we arrived, we messaged the host and they said they would get someone out there but at 8 pm I told them to just come the next day. There were dirty towels hanging up, trash leftover from former guests, toilets & showers had not been cleaned, no paper towels or trash bags left and the cleaners left a note with their info on it asking for a tip. After they “cleaned” I still had to put away dishes from the previous guests and the half bath toilet still had stains on it. Some of the stairs are damaged and falling apart, the king bed downstairs is nothing but springs and left us with hurt backs. The dishwasher doesn’t work very well so I would not use the dishes. The view is beautiful. This place has a lot of potential.

We enjoyed our time within the home itself. A little secluded having children with us. The road from Bryson City to the home after dark was concerning. We often stayed home in the evening hours.

When we arrived the outside of the cabin appeared neglected, with spider webs everywhere, weeds growing around the property, and camp chairs so covered in dirt that they couldn’t be used. It did not look clean or welcoming. The smell inside seemed to indicate it had been shut up for some time. In addition, the directions provided to the cabin were inaccurate, making it more difficult to find. The biggest concerns, however, were the wildlife issues. Upon arrival, one of our party noticed mice droppings. We let go because we were so exhausted. However we woke up to more mice droppings scattered throughout. The owner did send someone to clean and put mouse traps out. They did not follow up with us and we had to dispose of a dead mouse and clean up more mice droppings the next day. We also had a bat in the bedroom. The owners did not offer to remove it so we left in the middle of the night. The saga finally ended with us having to get post exposure rabies shots. We did receive a refund.

Staying in a cabin in the mountains over 4th of July weekend had been on my bucket list, and this place did not disappoint. As many others have said, the views alone are worth it. So much time was spent out on the deck, cooking and admiring the mountains. The fireplace was well stocked, the yard was well kept, and the hot tub was clean. The cabin is very private and peaceful, and a beautiful spot to look up at the stars at night. Overall, the place was fairly clean, but amenities-wise there are some annoyances. Upon arriving for our four-day trip, the one outside trash can was nearly full upon arrival and was never emptied during our stay. Upon messaging the host about this, no response was given. Our family of seven was allotted two trash bags with no extras given for our entire stay (we had to buy our own). We were allotted two dishwasher pods for the entire stay. If you are staying multiple days or have a larger party, come prepared! Outside of the inconveniences, it was great!

Would not recommend driving the roads unless you have an all wheel drive at minimum, preferably a four wheel drive.
