West Lake Properties's guest rating of 4.71 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“Pros: Clean, very comfortable bedding, amazing shower in the main bedroom bathroom, and spacious kitchen. Cons: Internet reliability (went out multiple times) and was not particularly fast, not the most responsive communication from hosts, no remote to garage door, too much clutter, only one key for all guests, a relatively small dining table for eight guests.”airbnb

“This palace is large, with a spacious kitchen and nice deck. However, I sent a message I never received a response to, albeit it was about an early check in and key was in the box so assuming they didn’t think it mattered. But, a few things to note- -Bear mat at front door was on and my daughter got shocked upon arrival. -Place felt more lived in than other Airbnbs I’ve stayed at: dusty air vents, older fixtures, few towels (thin) very used/low end utensils and only one roll of paper towels to be found. -WiFi was out an entire day -road outside house very busy/hard to cross to lake, had loud construction one night -had to keep windows open due to a/c not really working (especially upstairs) it was so stuffy inside and thermostat is old school, couldn’t figure out how to get it below 80 on the house With that said, beds were comfortable and we had the essentials we needed, walkable to bakery (which you can go through the little woods Nextdoor to).”airbnb

“It was a bit smaller than it looked in the pictures. It was also a little dirty, some of the furniture had stains, and there was kind of a weird smell. The mattresses weren’t very comfortable and squeaked a lot whenever you moved. It was also hard to get in touch with the property managers. I tried calling both of the numbers listed, but there was no response or call back.”airbnb

“Good location walking distance to Chambers and other public beaches.”airbnb

“Great stay overall including good location and cleanliness, though kitchenware and the heating of the place left a lot more to be desired. Main issue is false advertising on bed sizes, they are Full sizes not Queens.”airbnb

“We had a good stay at this condo! it’s a great size for 5 guests with a spacious kitchen and living room. One thing to note is that the master en-suite bathroom doesn't have a traditional door, but rather a sliding partition kind of thing, which may affect your privacy.. Unfortunately, we booked this specifically for the advertised hot tub, which was closed for our entire stay due to a heater failure. While I understand this was an HOA issue, it was a major disappointment for a ski trip and we paid a premium for the amenity. We had a difficult time reaching a fair agreement with the host regarding this, and ultimately had to involve Airbnb support to resolve the refund request. It’s a lovely home (and great location for skiing palisades!), but I’d recommend confirming all shared amenities are operational before booking if they are a high priority for your trip.”airbnb

“Driveway/garage was extremely hard to locate, took us an hour to find where the host was referring to. The checkout instructions regarding taking out trash said to put it in the metal garbage bin, we were not informed that there should be a key. When we were rushing to check out, we realized that the bin was locked. Host said that there’s a key hanging there but it was nowhere to be found. Check in and checkout instructions need to be clearer.”airbnb

“Unfortunately, our stay was very disappointing due to cleanliness and maintenance issues. The downstairs bedroom had what appeared to be a dog urine stain and the smell was overwhelming especially when the heater was on. One of the blankets also reeked of dog urine and was unusable. Because of the odors, we needed to wash multiple sheets and blankets ourselves during our vacation, which was unexpected. The shower curtain was musty and covered in grime and stains, which made the bathroom feel unsanitary. We also experienced no hot water for an entire day of our stay, and the power repeatedly went out. Additionally, there was a random box left on the dining table when we arrived, which made it seem like the unit had not been properly cleaned or prepared for guests. Overall, this was not the experience we expected and made our stay uncomfortable.”airbnb

“Booked this stay for pool / hot tub usage, but discovered it was closed upon arrival. No heads up was given about this closure before arriving at the stay, even though the amenity is a part of the title.”airbnb
