“We had 2 families with 4 kiddos and felt right at home! The location was easy just over the bridge to Jena and felt safe in the gated street. After a long day of scalloping, we loved having a view of the river and a pool all to ourselves! Mosquitoes were plentiful at dawn and dusk but to be expected for old Florida. We appreciated convenience of the dock to keep the boat overnight. We ate most meals in and the kitchen was accommodating. Beds were comfortable and kids loved the bunks. Would love to stay here again!”

“Perfect location for scalloping, cute house with great AC and comfy beds! There are 2 parking spots but no boat/trailer parking. For now the community is not fully built out so there are empty lots for parking, once full there will not be anywhere to park your boat:/”

“I would stay in this house again, however it is very far up river and the dock fills up on the weekends.”

“Just so it’s clear, if your thinking of backing your boat in the driveway, the columns are to narrow and you can’t fit your boat and truck in the driveway, this listing states it comes with a boat slip but forgot to mention it’s a first come first serve basis, keep in mind there are approximately 15 other homes in this community and about 5 spots to park a boat. We only rented this home for the boat slip but that didn’t work out very well for us unfortunately. Thankfully we were able to park the boat and trailer on a vacant lot next door (once the house is built that won’t be an option)”

“The house was fine and the location was close to everything and it was spacious enough for our large group of three families to not feel crowded. Plenty of boat/trailer parking. Communication was very responsive but oddly inaccurate for the owners to live right next door… I asked about the grill, told propane, it was charcoal… I asked if there was a dish washer, was told no… there was. The hose to wash/flush the motor was very broken, had to go get one. Asked if there were basic things like salt and pepper, told no, there was… Long story short packed a bunch of stuff I didn’t need, and not others I did but luckily DG is right up the road… only other issue was some unwanted house guests in the form that crawl but mostly to be expected in an old wood FL home. Just keep a flip flop handy.”

“Overall we had a great stay at this house during our time visiting Steinhatchee. The house is accurate to what the photos show and met our expectations. The only few things that could have been better was the floors were dirty and underneath the couches were very dusty and dirty.m from previous guests. In addition, the kitchen sink backed up twice in our 4 day stay and the grill that was on the premise was far too dirty and rusted out to use to cook on. But overall the house was perfect for our stay. The best part was the outdoor porch. You catch a great breeze on the front porch and when the bugs come out you can go on the side and sit in the screened in section. Also the driveway was a perfect size for multiple vehicles. Great for a scalloping vacation with the family!”

“We loved the location, but disappointed in a few things. I tried asking if some things were supplied before we left but she didn’t answer all my questions, we ended bringing a lot of things that were already supplied. There were no sheets on the loft beds, Just rough comforters. And the kitchen sink wouldn’t drain, making it very hard and time consuming to wash/rinse dishes. The toilet in the main bathroom wouldn’t flush right and we tried plunging it but then the shower would make draining noises. I will say we didn’t have any dishwasher pods so I texted Candis and she brought some over that night, which was appreciated. Overall, just seemed like a lot of maintenance needs.”
