Vacation Rental Collective (VRC)

Vacation Rental Collective (VRC)'s guest rating of 4.72 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

The place was very clean, beautiful backyard view, but we actually booked this place for the stocked pond. They claimed they had and it is just a drain overflow from across the road from someone else’s pond. You can’t see a single fish in there because it’s so shallow. It’s not possible. It was very disappointed in this because it’s the reason why we booked the place. The cabin was accurately described and very clean. We just would not have stayed there had we known it was not actually what they stated in their description. They even confirmed it was in a private message when we inquired. If you’re wanting to fish, this is not the place for you unless you go somewhere public.

Great home in a good location. Family fished, swam, paddle boarded, hiked etc… Very well supplied house just needed a better supply of soaps. Living room furniture is very uncomfortable. Long cushions not good for adults. The space is fantastic with lots of light! What’s better than taking your morning coffee on the deck playing the bear hunt game! Didn’t see any except on our train ride!!🧸

This place is very nice and clean with lots of bedding. The beds are comfortable and the living room area is nice. However it was extremely hot upstairs with the king size bed and did not cool off up there with windows and a/c on till around 2am. This was every day of our stay. We would close the windows every morning hoping to keep the heat out but it did not. The fans did not help and the a/c never seemed to travel to the 2nd floor. We live in the desert and were looking to escape the heat but it is miserably hot in that top room. This made sleeping arrangements very uncomfortable. This is definitely not a place you would want to stay in during a hot summer month. I'm sure it's wonderful during the winter. We could only open 1 window downstairs because the other one was missing a screen. The toilet also made noises all night and day. I don't usually write reviews but for the price we paid and the hot bedroom made our trip uncomfortable, especially traveling with an infant.

Overall the house was a good size for our large family. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean, but we were disappointed to see just small travel size bathroom soaps, shampoos, etc. with how much money we spent on our stay. The outside area was huge and was able to accommodate everyone. However house did get stuffy without any ac and very poor working fans in the bedrooms. Keep in mind that water is limited to about 1,000 gallons which was not filled prior to arrival and ran out in less than 24hrs after check in which again was a huge disappointment after spending a large amount of money on our stay. If those issues were to be resolved for future guests, I would consider staying there again

Beautiful location half way between Durango & Purgatory. Right on the golf course. Unit is dated & spiral stairs to upper bedroom. The back porch was wonderful. Has AC but unit stays on the warmer side. Check in at 4 & check out 10 with NO flexibility stinks

Overall a great stay. Make sure to read all the house rules / directions and all the wording for this post. I thought the pool/ workout area was included but it was an added fee we had to pay during the stay. It was on the main booking page but I did not read all of it. Clearly my fault but I was still surprised.

We were very disappointed this time. All beds need to be up dated. The master bedroom door needs oiling, there was only one piece of wood for the fireplace. The lint catcher for the dryer was overflowing. Had to wait two days for shampoo, pkg. no luggage carrier for bring our things up from the garage. Kitchen is not well equipped and very very messy cupboards. Nothing to put leftovers in or baggies, saran wrap, or tinfoil. Over all would not recommend this unit to friends. The one good thing the location.

The cabin itself is spacious and worked well for our group. The common areas are large, the kitchen is functional, and the bedrooms are a good size. One of the bedrooms with a bathroom has no windows and gets very stuffy. We also couldn’t figure out how to control the heating, and that room became excessively warm at night. The internet was unreliable and slow, disconnecting frequently. Hot water was inconsistent as well — it took a long time to heat up. There was the lack of flexibility from the host when the ski resort closed early due to lack of snow. We booked this property specifically to ski, and only one day ended up being open. We asked to cancel or at least negotiate a partial refund, but there was no willingness to help. We were also told that the complex would remain open and that activities (other than lifts) would still be available. This was not accurate — all restaurants and shops were closed. The cabin and resort is fine, but it wasn't what we imagined.

Knew condo was dated from pictures going in, however this unit needs much needed general maintenance. Missing baseboards, coat rack coming off wall, light unit in kitchen completely out, all rooms are very dark with poor lighting options, furniture terribly scuffed and marred, kitchen utensils were dirty, cookware in unhealthy and bad shape, parking info was not submitted nor was a permit inside unit the condo for us- we got a ticket, host could not remedy, bugs/weevils on cookware in kitchen, fridge door does not open- it hits the wall, sheets were dirty on one bed and host could not provide clean washed sheets, fireplace very dirty and ash blew in and covered living area, and to top it off guests below us threw a party and were smoking weed on their balcony and we could not enjoy our balcony. Host said they could not do anything so I personally called the main lodge and they sent a security officer. While the location is great; unit 308 needs an overhaul and a better management co.

We arrived a few hours early and were unable to check in because 'they needed to clean", which is understandable except for the fact that when we did get in the dust collected on the ceiling fan and vents was such that the place had clearly not been cleaned in months. The freezer was still Dirty from the prior stay with old food, the bathroom drain did not drain, the shower head was so encrusted with grime we feared using it for health and safety concerns. The carpets are clearly stained. If they're not going to clean them, they ought to just replace with heart surface flooring, but that would be problematic given that the heating system doesn't work, so I understand why they haven't. Not a bad option If you don't plan on watching TV because theirs is smaller than an average computer monitor and although it is a color television, the speakers are blown and it doesn't provide any audio. So make sure you have your reading glasses and turn on the captions to enjoy. A for effort I guess.
