Manager Review

Unwind Vacations

Unwind Vacations's guest rating of 4.79 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“I really think it’s needs to be state more Clear that the deposit is going to be $750 before you book. I would have never looked at this listing if so. It’s like it makes you take the damage waver of $55ish because who wants them holding $750 as a deposit. Most hotels hold $100 which is what I was expecting. The place its self had several broken things which I found surprising. Considering you have to pay the damage waver or let them hold $750?!? I figured they’re be nothing broken for sure. Nope the towel rack in the bathroom was bent the couch has tears in it there were light bulbs blown out everywhere. There was mildew growing on the fabric shower curtain. The place has so much potential but just doesn’t seem to me up kept well.also no motorcycle rvs or golf carts are allowed in that neighborhood”

“Great location, perfect for med size groups, bunkbeds the kids loved. Only issue was not being told upfront about the $15 a day for parking. The golf cart parade and activities onsite gave the kids something to do. Love to come back late fall”

“The house was beautiful exactly as described. The pool was a big plus however there were problems with the rental company. The air conditioning had stopped working on Thursday afternoon. The company was contacted and said they would try and get it fixed later that afternoon. By evening still no response then they stated it would be priority for the next morning still no response by 2:30 PM. I again contacted the agency which they said the ticket never got filed. It somehow got lost in the cracks and they would send somebody out in the evening. It was almost 8 o’clock at night before someone arrived at the house. Temperature was 85° for 36 hrs. However, Josh was very responsive and refunded us a night stay and money to go out to dinner since it was too hot in the house to cook. I definitely would not rent from this company again, they also stated the owner was giving them pushback about calling in someone to fix it on a Friday evening, which added to the delay.”

“Unfortunately, I can’t leave a 5-star review based on our experience. When we arrived, there were towels left thrown on the couch, and one of the toilets had clearly been used by previous guests and wasn’t flushed, which made us question the cleanliness of the property. We also had a much more serious issue with the front door latch getting stuck. We were unable to leave the rental for about 20 minutes because the door wouldn’t open. We were told maintenance would be coming throughout the day, but no one ever arrived, and there was very little communication about the situation. I understand that problems can happen, but what matters is how they’re handled. Unfortunately, the cleanliness issues, the safety concern with the door, and the lack of follow-through from maintenance made this stay fall well short of the 5-star experience described in your message.”

“We had a frustrating check-in. The site says code appears automatically at 3 pm. It does not. It also says we can pay extra for early arrival, wasnt allowed. 3 nights we had to park in a totally different parking garage. Parking is HORRIBLE! My Grandkids found a baggie of needles in the bed, clearly left by cleaners. (seamstress needles) The ad says 6 lazy rivers. There are 2 you are allowed to use. I messaged and confirmed an oven in unit. After it was too late for a refund, they messaged back saying they messed up. No oven. Huge deal for budget travelers. The smoke alarms went off 4 times in the middle of the night. I dont smoke and my Grandkids are 9. They also dont smoke. It would be an absolute miracle if u could read a book in the living area. There's no lighting. NONE! Lamp was broken. We took a $2.00 lamp from Dollar Tree out of the bedroom area and moved it to living area. Still not enough light to see words on a page. As an avid reader, this was devastating.”

“So first I will give the house itself 5 star it was clean, neat. The reason I would say it was bad I've done several of these thru verbo and never once had to wait 330 to 340 to check in and was never charged per hour to get inside you never are charged last minute 55 dollar fees on top of the price you paid to rent the house itself. You loose a day this way checking in and you loose a day having to check out at 10am and no late check outs? We also got locked out of the key pad on second to last day no response just an automated machine which was no help what so ever.”

“My family and I really enjoyed our stay. The location was excellent and only a 5-minute drive to the beach! The neighborhood was quiet and felt very safe. However, a few days before our trip, I asked if there was a BBQ grill at the property since I didn't see one in the listing photos or description. The host assured me there was a grill, even describing where it was located. Unfortunately, I believe they confused our rental with another property so when we arrived, there was no grill. The host did apologize and let us know about the community grill but it was already being occupied. Additional one of the bedroom bathrooms didn't appear to have been fully cleaned before our arrival, as there was hair in the shower and a used bar of soap. Despite the few issues, the space made for a great getaway, and I would still recommend it to others!”

“The pool was wonderful . Inside nicely decorated, looks exactly like pictures on line. None of the Gas tanks (5) were filled, luckily used gas tank from fire pit. This had just enough gas to grill. Furniture broken. Closet wire shelve broken.”

“I was not informed that there was a security fee fundable of 500 or you can pay 50 non refundable. I asked why was i informed when I booked the reservation and was told there was a misunderstanding.”
