“Bare bones rental. If you are not cooking your own food this rental would be great but just has enough things to get through one meal. Other household items very limited. One roll of TP, no detergent, tiny bathroom size garbage can for kitchen, etc. not convenient to have to bring all these extra things just for a weekend stay.”

“The cabin is nice. There are two living rooms and a nice deck. The only issue was the description of the bedrooms. I set my filters for 4 bedrooms because we were traveling with another family and teen girls need their own spaces, so it was disappointing to find that there were only two bedrooms with a big loft area. One section of the loft had a curtain and one section of the loft is more of a play area that also serves as a hallway to the master bedroom. Hopefully the listing gets updated to reflect the number of rooms. Other than that, the stay was nice. The lake is a great for an easy day and Twain Harte is a fantastic home base for other adventures.”

“Great location- a few mins walk to the lake entrance. Place was perfect for our two families of 4 each needs. Important to note that the bunk bed room is a pass through to the primary bedroom that has two queen beds. Lots of amenities (pans, coffee options, bbq, griddle, games, piano,etc.) Bath towels and wash cloths provided, no hand towels (I think you’re supposed to use the washcloths for that purpose?). Bring your own beach supplies like chairs toys towels and blankets. Overall a great stay and would definitely stay there again!”

“This was a great place to stay! Plenty of room for us to spread out. Beautiful scenery, great outdoor and indoor space. I would definitely book this place again.”

“Last minute rental 4th of July weekend, was pleased to find this available. What was disappointing is it says dogs are welcome with prior permission. I had to message several times to receive a response and was then told no, we could not bring our 12 year old pittie due to her breed. We rent for two weeks every year in Strawberry for the last 12 years and have never had an issue with bringing our family dog. To throw salt in the wound, there’s a dog bed there for those lucky enough to be given permission and the blanket in the bedroom downstairs was covered with dog hair. The cabin itself was lovely and fairly clean. I do not feel it should be our responsibility to roll the garbage cans out to the street, I feel that should be done by owners or cleaning crew. I would love to say we’d consider renting here again, but the fact that they won’t allow our family dog when others are welcome is a definite deterrent.”

“Bathroom trash was full, coffee pot had not been emptied, kitchen floor had not been mopped. Besides clean towels left on each bed it really didn’t look like the cabin had been cleaned. It was nice being so close to the lake and was very peaceful just wished the cabin was clean.”

“Great location and our family had a ton of fun. We were prepared for the snow and had a 4x4 vehicle. We did have some challenges when we lost power and were snowed in. The host gave us a number for a local snowblower who response to us was “not sure”. Also the home did not have a first aid kit or bandaids. And the power outage in the storm was tough given there were no candles, no batteries, no generator, and virtually nothing to assist in those situations. We found one old flashlight in a cabinet with dead batteries. I would def recommend the homeowner equip the winter cabin w lanterns, flashlights, candles and a first aid kit. Other than that the cabin and size and location was great.”

“The house is nice and would be good for a family but not a group as there is really only one bedroom. The backyard had a solid high fence which was great for out dogs. We found the bedding to be less than ideal, the sheets and pillows seemed old and the comforter was a thin budget option from target, not great for a place that gets decently cold. The comforter was also in the dryer, but not dry and the bed wasn’t made because the cleaner had to leave before finishing. Also, if you’re planning to cook be warned that the pans are all very old worn out nonstick pans, but there are decent pots and baking pans.”
