“The place was clean and comfortable. It was close enough to Harrisonburg, where most of our activities were based, and yet far enough away that we could appreciate the peaceful location at the end of the day.”

“I don’t understand the glowing reviews. The property is beautiful and spacious, and the hosts were responsive. But the cleanliness was unacceptable. We found mouse droppings in bedroom drawers and beneath pillows in the bunk room. We couldn’t unpack because drawers contained droppings or old food crumbs. Wrappers and food debris were left in couches, beside beds, under furniture, and in the theater room. The refrigerator, stove, griddle, pantry, and bathrooms were so dirty. Carpets, couches, and bedding protectors were stained, the linens were scratchy, and our socks turned black from the floors. The hosts sent two cleaners the next evening, but having them arrive at 5 PM while 14 guests were cooking dinner was uncomfortable and couldn’t substitute for cleaning before check-in. We didn’t mind the dated decor; we minded the sanitation. Mouse droppings around sleeping areas, with young children present, are inexcusable. Great service simply cannot make up for that. We would never return.”

“The apartment is big and can easily fit eight people. We particularly appreciated the large living room where we could all comfortably spend time together, the big table in the kitchen, and the grill. The location is quiet and surrounded by the forest, but it is also very close to several facilities, and not too far from the entrance of the National Park. When we arrived in the evening we realized that some of the items included in the welcome kit were missing (sponge, laundry detergent, body wash, shampoo), but they were delivered the morning after. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!”

“This is not private house. They belong to a management company. Slow communications, terrible smells. Especially, tell us to check out at very last moment instead of begging of the reevation”

“I found out after the fact that the place cost more on AirBnB than booking directly through the website, but since it came with recreation passes, I thought the difference would outweigh itself. Not all recreation areas were open as disclosed so not all amenities were available for use. The host was slow to respond even before I booked. I love an AirBNB over a hotel because it’s usually more like home, and gives flexibility in being able to cook, but the availability of working kitchen appliances was limited. Also, a lot of the plug-ins didn’t work which was odd. Overall, you can tell this is not run by a person that takes pride in their home, but instead a business that pushes people through with little consideration of the guest themselves. It felt more like a hotel than any other AirBnB I’ve stayed in. The setting resort itself is beautiful, but there are a lot of extra costs to enjoy anything about it.”

“SCAMMER! Paid for a week and when you was checking in no reservation was made, also tried messaging him but never responding and even called but just kept getting sent to voicemail, luckily I could get my money back through AIRBNB”

“I experienced several issues: the dishwasher flooded the floor of the unit. The internet and tv did not work the entire weekend. Spotty connection and service. Extremely disappointed being as though the weather was not ideal to be out in during the day. The company had been unresponsive since I checked out regarding compensation for the inconveniences.”

“Me and my family had a great time together staying at this Airbnb. There was plenty of parking. It had enough space for everyone to hang out and enjoy each others company and for children to have plenty of space to play. The hockey puck was missing and we were unable to find one and get a new one from the host. The kitchen could have been cleaned better (i.e., every shelf in the pantry and in some of the pans, under the stove and sink including the dish drying rack). The Master bathroom shower did not appear to have been cleaned thoroughly. The internet didn’t work the entirety of the trip upstairs. We told the host but unfortunately it was not resolved and we could not enjoy the theatre room.”

“House was nice just had dog hairs on bed, and I paid for a late check out until 12 the TVs cut off at 11 was really crazy couldn’t watch tv for a hour that was the reason for the late check out”

“This place was absolutely horrible. I feel like if they said very clearly that there was gonna be no stove, oven or clean drinking water maybe I wouldn’t be so upset. However, They had no source of clean drinking water no Britta no filter on the refrigerator or anything and the owner told me to drink out of the sink because the water there is good. The faucet was rusted (as well at shower heads). There were bugs on the ceiling. The beds were that absolutely worst bed I’ve ever slept on. We got locked out of our complex. But the worst thing was is that I bought so much food to be able to feed my group of people while we were there and maybe I should’ve looked at the photos harder, but he didn’t say anywhere that there was no stove or oven and I feel like that’s something that should be explicitly told. Don’t worry, he gave us a rusty plug-in stove to use instead that was so dirty. Also, upon arrival there was the grossest spoon I’ve ever seen in my life just sitting in the sink.”
