The Whaler

“We had a really great time during our vacation here in Maui at The Whaler on Kāʻanapali Beach. We stayed in the "Sky High" unit on the 11th floor, and the view from the balcony was absolutely amazing! One of the things that really stood out to us was how helpful everyone was. The bellhop was super friendly and gave us some great local food recommendations that we really enjoyed. While we were staying here, Hurricane Lala was approaching and the staff even reached out to check on us and make sure we had travel accommodations & assistance available in case the storm affected our plans. That level of care really meant a lot to us. The place itself was clean, comfortable and just as described. The view from the balcony was amazing and one of our favorite parts of the stay. We also love how convenient the location was. Everything was very walkable and made things very easy to get to. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again. Mahalo!”

“We absolutely loved our stay at The Whaler on Kāʻanapali Beach. The unit was extremely clean and had everything we needed for the week. It really felt like a home away from home. The view was probably the best part absolutely amazing. Waking up every morning and looking out at Maui and the ocean never got old. The location was perfect too: right on Kāʻanapali Beach, walking distance to Black Rock and Whalers Village, and close to everything we wanted to do. Even the Murphy bed was awesome! It was comfortable, easy to use, and worked out perfectly for our family. The property itself was beautiful, clean, relaxing, and incredibly convenient. After exploring Maui during the day, coming back to The Whaler felt like coming back to paradise. We had an amazing family vacation and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. “Overall location is good. But this unit has non spot elevator noise. Clanking and whirring all day and all night. Sound comes through concrete building everywhere. Next time I would pick a different unit.”

“We have stayed at the Whaler for years and haven’t ever stayed in 923 before - it was our most expensive unit for same size unit and was the least clean remodeled or nice. The handle to the fridge came off making it very inconvenient to open, the WiFi didn’t work half the time, there was a toilet issue needed to be excessively plunged and a mess of sewage water was left behind for us in our master bath after the maintenance crew came in, so gross. The beds had zero blankets which the manager had to bring up and I had three ice trays to make ice on vacation with. Not nice or convenient. We tried to work with the host and were only offered 1500 off a unit for the following year. We will never rent this unit again.”

“Like the other ratings, the place is a bit dated; however, there have been some new furnishings added since the pictures were taken. We had a bit of a hiccup at check in, but the owner was on site and came to the front desk right away. He was so friendly and even texted later in the trip to follow up. The view is unbeatable. I think we spent more time on the lanai than we did inside the actual condo. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.”

“Great location, clean and updated , very comfortable bed. Fitness center was small but sufficient for a decent workout. Staff were helpful. This is a wonderful location on Kaanapali beach with easy access to restaurants, snorkeling and whale watching with Kaanapali Ocean Adventures, golf, etc.”
