Manager Review

The Coastal Project

The Coastal Project's guest rating of 4.68 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

The good: location, parking, the view and beds were comfortable Why I wouldn’t book again: The HOA clearly doesn’t like renters and felt we were constantly micromanaged. Unfortunately the property management isn’t onsite and has to report every HOA concern. Example is if the lawn chair isn’t in the exact placement. It was constant. The kitchen is sparse…four wine glasses, a couple pans, no cookware, toaster, etc. we had multiple issues - dirty bathrooms, broken doors, etc. Skunk lives on property - we reported several times and never addressed and therefore couldn’t enjoy evenings outside the majority of the month. Even if those things didn’t happen, it wouldn’t fix the HOA. They are not Airbnb friendly and also the skunk :)

We loved our stay here! The amenities were top tier with a great pool, spa, gym, game room, and just steps from the beach. We walked to the pier and harbor for awesome restaurants and coffee shops. The condo was beautiful and spacious. We will definitely be back!

Great location, very clean and the place looks as though it was recently renovated.

This place was perfect. So close to the water, and the location was amazing. I would highly recommend staying here.

Really disappointed - especially for the money paid. Lumpiest pillows (granted they sent new pillows the next day) stain in bath, hair in bathroom, old sofa bed that had like cat scratching on it and would pull out when you were sitting on it. Worst element though was the air con unit is not powerful enough to cool the unit. If keeping cool in summer is important - do not rent!! On the plus side the shower pressure was good and having parking and new laundry appliances was good.

Nice place but lack of communication on the fact the train is right behind you. Not great for those traveling with infants and sensitive sleepers. The wood floors aren’t properly placed in so they slip out of place causing you to slip backwards. Otherwise did the job and was good for the short stay we had.

I think this place is accurately depicted from the photos to the true experience. There isn’t anything grand about it except the location is perfect. Extremely walkable, safe and accessible to the beach. You can either walk to Oceanside beach or take a short ride to Carlsbad. I would recommend that this place only be booked for two people with a possible third or small children as the couch bed wasn’t very large or the most comfortable. I think the value for the price and location makes it worth it!

Good location but the roaches in the house are a problem. I had travelled 12+ hours only to find the place is infested. Not worth it.

A little noisy with thin walls and I didn’t know it was in a basement but the bed was comfy.

Half way through our stay the company changed the door code and locked us out for several hours. I tried calling and messaging but was getting no response from the company. Once I finally got a response they were incredibly rude.
