Manager Review

Tahoe Rentals|Wells & Bennett Realtors

Tahoe Rentals|Wells & Bennett Realtors's guest rating of 4.71 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

Good stay overall. We had a black out while we were there which wasn’t the best. Felt that the host could have checked up on us a bit more to provide more essentials for this like spare batteries or candles, we had to go and buy them ourselves. Other than that the place was nice.

Beautiful, well-appointed three-floor house, but not managed well for summer comfort. No AC, and only two fans for the whole house — the listing does say no AC and we were told this is normal for Tahoe homes - the heat was unmanageable, especially in the top-floor master bedroom, which stayed unusable even at night after two days of trying. We spent time opening and closing windows just to keep the house barely cool, and the windows had no screens — something management wasn't aware of — letting in mosquitoes and flies until screens were fitted the next day. Customer service was slow — replies only came during working hours (9-5), with hours-long delays outside that. On our last day the Internet went out, cutting us off from an urgent work issue, which we were told 3 hrs after we reached out again. Ended up with 2 usable bedrooms instead of 3 disrupting our sleeping arrangements. We were not comfortable, it was not pleasant, and it was definitely not value for the price we paid.

The neighborhood is nice and the location is convenient, about a 10-minute walk to the beach, a bakery, and the bike path. One thing to note is that there is an auto shop across the fence, and there was occasionally some loud music during the day. The neighbors next door also smoked weed a few times a day, and the smell would sometimes drift into the house. The floors could have been a little cleaner, as I noticed some dust on my feet after walking around barefoot. Overall, though, the location was a nice convenience.

The location was amazing, the view unbeatable. The unit itself left a lot to be desired for the money. Dated furniture and finishings, One of the blinds was broken, a chair on the patio was damaged, the oven and stove did not work well, the bathroom sink was completed clogged (I fixed it), dvd player did not work, we ran out of hot water every day and unit could use some serious updating. We have stayed in multiple properties around north Lake Tahoe, but this is our least favorite to date.

We booked this cabin for a family weekend with four little kids. Arriving late at 12pm, we found the property protected by electrified bear wiring but received no instructions on how to safely access the house in the check in instructions. The cabin was unique, but dusty, musty, and showed signs of a rodent problem, including mouse droppings and a strong odor in the bunk room. We later discovered extensive evidence of mice, including nests and entry points. The cabin was also very dark much darker then photos show. A mother bear with two cubs also approached the property, coming within a few feet of one of our children, which was alarming. The bear later entered the cabin when the cleaning ladies left and didnt put the bear wiring back up, adding to the stressful experience. The owner apologized and provided a full refund, and the rental company responded quickly. However the lack bear information in the posting and safety concerns for the young children made for a disappointing stay.

This place needs a deep cleaning and no one should stay until this has been addressed

Kitchen was dirty, dishes were dirty, there was no hot water on the second night of our stay, and they tried to charge us with damage for a window sill that we had no part of more than a week after our stay.

Future renters should know that the 2 bedrooms are upstairs and to get there its basically a ladder - host should disclose and post picture as it was an issue for us older folks. Primary bedroom has a half bath - the toilet and half sink are about 2 feet from the bed behind a curtain. The second bedroom is spacious enough with a couple singles, a double and a nook bed - good for kids. The laundry is in a basement/ garage with a padlock, lights didn’t work. There is no full fridge - two half fridges - freezer section fits one ice tray, maybe two max. We left a day early as the whole set up just got inconvenient enough after 4 days.

A+ view/location, C quality unit Place has been neglected. Furniture filling apart. My 100lb pregnant wife sat in an old chair that collapsed, technology is from 80’s, tv has permanent stain, towels disintegrate when using, they literally turn to dust, kids beds are actually put together and punch themselves when getting in and out, dirty in the corners, walls patched but not painted, great view an great location but the place is just neglected. Last and most important, not enough hot water to get through one normal shower in the morning, not enough for a family. When I mentioned, they said we are using too much. I didn’t even respond to such a rude response. I would not stay there again. Too many other wonderful Tahoe places that are better maintained. That’s the honest feedback from my entire family.
