Manager Review

Stowe Country Homes

Stowe Country Homes's guest rating of 4.70 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

Loved this place. It’s very private and well laid out

This was a wonderful stay for us. Such a conveniently located spot near a grocery store and right downtown on Main. While steps away from literal downtown, the unit had two outdoor decks overlooking the babbling Little River and a wooded hill. Quiet and serene. The unit was extraordinarily clean and featured so many conveniences, anmenities and comforts. The coat and equipment hooks, along with the boot/shoe trays in the common area is a great idea for skiers to store their things without bringing melted snow indoors. We loved having three floors for the spaciousness. The huge TV was nice to watch Alfred Hitchcock Presents on. The whole, nicely decorated place from the kitchen, to the king-sized bed, to the washer and dryer made us feel at home away from home.

The lock didn't work. It took two hours to get in initially. The management company couldn't communicate how to use the lock properly. I asked for a key multiple times. The management company said they never received one, one evening I was locked out after dinner. I was concerned every time I left, that I would be locked out The 2nd bedroom door was blocked by the bed. The door couldn't close.

This place has the best location, especially to walk to Downtown! The space is comfortable, the room and bed are spacious and the living room has a very "homey" feeling.

Nice house in a development of similar homes. The house was well stocked and we particularly enjoyed using the covered deck. The pool and tennis courts were older but a nice option for the summer when we visited. The house is well located within a short drive to town. We were disappointed by the inadequate temperature control, especially given the luxury pricing of this home. Whether the AC was faulty or couldn't keep up with the summer sun streaming in, we were quite uncomfortable for much of the stay (even on days in the 70's outside, it was 80 or higher inside). The house absolutely needs sun blocking window coverings for temperature control and to prevent the sun from streaming in at 5am. We contacted the management company but they did not provide any solutions.

This was in a perfect location. So walkable to Main street. The details were great.

We felt the property was a little more dated than the pictures led on. Photos were definitely enhanced to make property seem newer than it actually was. However, was clean and comfortable. Biggest complaint is we stayed here because we wanted a shuttle to easily get to Stowe. What’s listed as a ‘short walk’ is actually half a mile to shuttle pick up; which with skis, boots and gear is quite far. Overall, not bad but not quite 5 star.

The house is ok. We arrived and the house was brutally cold. It took 8 hours to heat up as it’s radiant heating and the managers don’t come to turn the heat up the morning of our arrival. We literally had to sit inside the house with our full ski cloths and hats because it was so cold for many hours. They offered a 30% refund of the first night cost and dealing with that was very frustrating. The check-in is annoying as you need to drive to the town to pick up the key and drop it off at checkout which adds a drive to what was already a long drive. Smart locks should be used in a house like that.
