Stony Brook Cabins

Stony Brook Cabins's guest rating of 4.79 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“I stayed here last year and last year it was easily a five star Airbnb this year was a little bit of a different story. The hot tub cover was torn up quite badly and I think it let bacteria grow in the hot tub I developed a little rash from the hot tub itself, and when talked about it they said that they had bears I would think just replace it with a bears proof hot tub cover, and there were quite a bit of dead ladybugs in the pool window in the 1000s the TV had a dead pixel, which is honestly was no big deal they also had a very large ant problem compared to last year if you left any food out at all, the whole place would be covered in them which I expect in the mountains, but not as bad as we had. I just wish they would upkeep the place a lot better it once was a very nice Airbnb.”airbnb

“The views was gorgeous, the hot tub was not clean very slimy. Windows and ceilings not clean and had cob webs. Both bedrooms upon entering was dirty and definitely was not changed from the last guest cause we found ears plugs on the sheets in one bed and dirty sheets and hairs on other bed. Dryer was broke and never wss fixed or attempted to be fixed. Due to dirty beds and no after hours assistance, we ended up sleeping on the couch and floor the first night. The day before we left they called and was going to let us checkout later or get a extra day for free and since we live over 9hrs away we could not make last min plan changes and they would not at all comp us for the first night. We did end up trying to get the extra night and never got a reply back in time to stay.”airbnb

“The cabin was so nice! Unfortunately the fire pit didn't work, i called and told them about it the person i talked to said "they will send someone out in the morning". No one ever came.”airbnb

“Our AC went out and we was told that it was too late being 5pm and they would send someone the next day. I called at 8am and was told it was a luxury not a necessity so my husband called and they sent someone but we was over 24 hours with a cabin that was 85 degrees inside with a real feel of 110 outside with a toddler that is disabled. It was also almost impossible to get ahold of anyone! We visited the pool and the keypad froze up and I called and was told they did not manage the pool basically sorry figure it out yourself. I called the emergency number on the pool and was hung up on multiple times or just didn’t reach anyone and finally after 2 hours of trying we climbed the fence with a disabled toddler. I will never stay here again and we wasn’t even refunded anything for being 24 hours plus without AC and miserable. I also found cat food on the master bedroom and the bathroom smelled of cat urine.”airbnb

“We were four people who stayed for four days and the supplies they gave didn’t last us a day.”airbnb

“One of the reasons we booked this cabin in this location was because of its closeness to a lot of events and because it stated that it had reliable Wi-Fi/Internet The whole time we struggled with getting the Wi-Fi to work and when it did work, it did not work reliably They sent out maintenance to look at it, but I honestly feel like maintenance made the situation worse And when we called management about the issue with the Wi-Fi, we were given unreliable information about it”airbnb

“this is the worst cabin I’ve ever rented the lake was dried up no water no dock deceptive false advertising illegal security cameras everywhere they complained about me having a dog in the cabin. It’s a freaking cabin. I had to board my dog. I did not see a no pet policy looked at dozens of cabins and I’ve rented many cabins before without a problem. This cabinet is out in the middle of nowhere on a death road of 63 curves out by trailers, sketchy people and neighbors that’s why they built defense in a dried up lake, which they lied about. The brochure is all said April the lake would be filled up even their book in the cabin said so and all the pictures so the cabin with water totally disappointed seeing that this is the first time I’ve ever rented a cabin on a lake, total letdown, and then they wind about a dog and a cabin in the mountains just give me a break, but we complied and boarded the dog and paid out-of-pocket for unexpected expenses. Kayaks locked up dirty hot tub.”airbnb

“This place needs a thorough, deep clean. The back part of the toilet seat was broken and was SO gross. We called and they sent the cleaner later that afternoon, but they were still dirty. There’s a layer of dust throughout the place. I had to reach through cobwebs to plug in my phone charger. The pack n play we rented was so damaged and stained we had to cover with multiple sheets and put pillows under it to use. All the outdoor furniture was covered in dirt/dust too. If you can get past all this, the view was nice and it’s great proximity to Porters Creek trailhead.”airbnb

“Worst place we have ever been too. No propane and the grill didn’t work at all even when they brought a small grill propane bottle too us. Over half the games didn’t work, and there was trash all over the place outside. Called Friday to let them know and was told they couldn’t do anything about the propane or the games.”airbnb
