“Great location nearby coffee and restaurants, apartment was nice and clean when we got there, but the last night we saw multiple cockroaches so we had to leave. They were responsive and reimbursed us for the night we left, so hopefully they’ve gotten the cockroaches taken care of. Only other complaint is you couldn’t put the AC below 70.”

“Some issues on check in due to an AirBnB phone number mixup, and had difficulty calling Stay Duvet directly. They were normally responsive via text within 10-20 minutes. The location is good, and a walk to downtown Charleston and the historic district takes around 45 minutes. It’s also very close to a beautiful park. Some small issues with cleanliness. Many of the walls are scuffed or stained and some dusty surfaces. There was also one used towel left still wet on the back of the bathroom door when we checked in. Overall we had an enjoyable stay. The location has all the amenities needed including a parking space, a well stocked kitchen, comfortable bed, and nice furnishings. We would consider staying here again next time we’re in the Charleston area.”

“There were some small issues here and there but overall good stay! Cannot beat the location!”

“First, I’ll acknowledge that the home was beautiful and close to many great SC activities. The host was responsive and came out immediately to address issues when they came up , and I received a partial refund which was greatly appreciated. However, we encountered some maintenance & cleanliness issues during the stay. There was a (non toxic) mold/fungus growing through the floor of a bedroom, which made us question how thoroughly the home was cleaned. The host came and quickly removed the mold. The keypad lock on the front door also stopped working during the stay, which prevented us from accessing the home easily and required us to retrieve a physical key and enter through the back. Later, a doorknob came off completely. The host repaired both the keypad and the doorknob quickly. We were offered fair explanations for the issues, and I appreciate that the they were addressed as soon we reported them, but having several issues during a short stay was disruptive.”

“Not for ladies alone to stay . They felt tensed during stay as someone else staying on part of property . People were drunk and intruded when ladies asked for help on lock system . Will not recommend for family or girls alone stay .”

“The house is extremely noisy attached to a restaurant a plays musical all day could not rest or even hear the mediocre television. Upstairs! neighbors come home at midnight party till 230. Bathroom ceiling falling down unacceptable very uncomfortable could not relax more for college students in frat house behavior.”

“The place itself was actually really pretty and looked super clean when I arrived / had plenty of space. That being said, I had a couple of weird experiences. The biggest issue was that I found German cockroaches on two separate occasions. On top of that, you can tell the unit is run by a massive management company because a lot of the details are clearly copy-pasted. The checkout instructions talked about a dishwasher that the apartment doesn't have, referenced laundry detergent that wasn’t there, and the Wi-Fi password was spelled wrong on the placards around the unit. Stay Duvet was apologetic about the issues and responsive, but I wouldn’t recommend staying until the cockroach issue is resolved.”

“The apartment was fine, but not fully remodeled. The house was 100+ years old and seemed like it. The primary bathroom was dingy and termite frass accumulated on the bathroom counter. I couldn’t figure out if it was bugs at first. The host was responsive and sent someone over, but without eliminating termites, what can one do other than just wipe the counter off? A set of blinds in the primary bathroom didn’t work as well as the secondary bath and we had to fashion towels over windows for privacy. Not what I was expecting when booking.”

“The location is exceptional. Quiet and away from the congestion of Center Street, with fantastic beach access and a peaceful, uncrowded stretch of beach. Unfortunately, the home did not meet the standard we expected from a luxury rental costing over $4,000 for four nights. Cleanliness was a major issue. Nearly every dish we pulled from the cabinets had dried food on it and had to be washed before use. We also found visible dust and hair on bathroom walls and a used contact lens stuck to a bedroom wall. The home was poorly stocked for this price point: one dishwasher pod, a tiny bottle of dish soap, limited paper products, and a minimally appointed kitchen despite the listing describing it as well-appointed. The fridge water filter needed replacing. Ants covered the backyard pathways and repeatedly bit us and our dogs. WiFi was unsecured and essentially unusable, forcing us to use hotspots. Great location, but the cleanliness, amenities, and upkeep did not justify the luxury price.”

“My stay was not a great experience. The bed sheets were dirty,bathroom was also dirty and there was mold in the upstairs bathroom. No linen for the upstairs sofa even though I requested extra linen. My husband had to purchase sheets from the store. The toilet overflowed and there wasn't a mop to clean anything. The home was not worth the amount of money we had to pay to stay there.Trash was left on the porch from a previous stay and they did not pick it up until days later.We would not stay at this particular home ever again.”
