Manager Review

Stay Va Beach

Stay Va Beach's guest rating of 4.77 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

The address was hard to find. The GPS took us to the wrong place at first.

I'll start off by saying if you're going to rent from a big company expect the results of a big company. They obviously bought this house and did a terrible renovation so they can scalp people on short-term rentals. This house had an ant infestation and the floors have likely not been mopped in months (we are a no shoes in the house kind of family and ran a wet Swiffer all over the house and the results were truly terrifying). Sheets had stains on them too. They used really cheap flooring all throughout the house even in the bathroom.. but the unfortunate part is this flooring is not waterproof so outside of the master bathroom shower is just a moldy soggy mess... Any day somebody's going to step wrong and fall through the subfloor because it's so rotted and nasty. For such an expensive rental they don't give you much in return. It's on a noisy intersection and they don't have a single curtain in this house to block light or noise. Long story short they don't do a good job cleaning.

The house looked much like the pictures, however, the amenities were somewhat underwhelming. And no “little extras” were provided for welcoming guests. No water or coffee or even salt and pepper. The kitchen had only a few pots and pans and limited storage containers or mixing bowls. Only one towel per guest was provided for a five day stay. Could not find any additional towels. Other than beach towels. Bedding was thin and could not find extra blankets. We found dirty under garments in one of the bedroom drawers. And kept finding live roaches in the bathrooms and rooftop during the week. We’ve stayed in other townhouses in the same row and never had these problems. The house was okay, and it’s a great location. But the management team should be better about providing things that make a families stay more comfortable and welcoming. Extra towels, comfy bedding and a better appointed kitchen, make a big difference. Particularly for the cost of the stay.

The unit in the house was nice and suitable for 2 or 3 adults. Bathroom is of the bedroom so privacy might be an issue for others. Instructions for TV, HVAC and appliances was not evident on arrival. Had to request inspections. Found documents the next day.

Giving this overall three stars mainly because of the location, which is a super short walk to the beach, Atlantic Ave, and tons of attractions. It's a good size and layout for larger group or multiple families, with the upstairs/downstairs split. Downsides: Amenities were super basic and lower than expected quality. If you're coming for more than one night, especially with kids/family, I highly recommend preparing to bring or buy things like foil, toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, dish soap, etc. Seems the mgmt company is trying to save money, and left a lot to be desired. While there were very basic dishes in the kitchen, the upstairs kitchen had almost nothing in it, which means we had to move things from the downstairs to the upstairs kitchen to even use it. Not sure I would plan on cooking a meal here either. Floors were surprisingly dirty w/ a lot of residual dirt and sand, surprising given the cleaning fee. Good location, enjoyed our time, but wouldn't rent again.

We booked this place on a whim since we wanted to go to the beach. We normally stay at the other end of the beach, and wish we did. This street is very noisy to start with. Our son was walking back from the store (18 years old), and he almost got jumped from someone that was trying to take his food he just bought. Pretty sketchy when it comes to that. The listing said there was a garage and we assumed we could park our trucks in there but they didn't fit. Luckily they gave one spot outside, but had to pay for a parking spot that was never compensated for. There weren't many utensils to use here, so would reccomend the owners buying more forks, and spoons that aren't kid sized. Also only had wooden spatulas and barely other items to cook with. The dryer never worked also, and nothing was done about that either. For being a newer place, I figured this would have been a better place for what we paid for. We have been going to VB for 10+ years too and we're very disappointed with the place

The house itself and the layout were great. The contents of the house...very bare bones. Barely enough cleaning products, kitchen utensils, etc. Would have been hard to stay more than a few days without basics.

This home was in a great location for proximity to the beach, stores and the new music venue The Dome. The house had all the basics we needed and the two full baths were convenient with the large group we had. The cons of this house is that the driveway only had parking for two cars and the street parking they mention in the listing, is not available for overnight parking. Also for the baby items they have listed, are not in the home and you have to rent them from the company. Overall the house was nice and worked well for us.

We truly appreciated the property's inviting ambiance, comfortable interiors, and impressive curb appeal. The elegant multi-level design, while charming, does involve several staircases, which could be a consideration for guests with mobility challenges or significant luggage. Our main feedback concerns the parking. The advertised garage, a key booking factor for us, was unfortunately too small for our vehicles. This unexpected inconvenience slightly impacted our experience. We had to find parking which included a parking fee. We suggest clearer communication regarding garage dimensions for future guests. Also, if we wanted to check in before 4 pm, the fee was $75.

Had to wait. Called, but they didn't answer. Sat in hold for 10 minutes. Only got in after another guest next door told us about the code being last four of phone number.
