South Seas
4.46Visit website
South Seas's guest rating of 4.46 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“I asked for a 3 pm check-in, but unfortunately they could not accommodate us until 4 pm. By the time we got to the pool, the slide closed at 5 pm.”airbnb

“Perfect stay as a family with a 1 year old!! We had easy access to both the beach & Captiva landing pools/kids area which made things extremely convenient. Overall a very kid friendly place still with a luxurious feel and the unit was super clean! The only mishap was upon check-in. The man operating the front gate wasn’t aware the resort had Airbnb and kept insisting we needed to provide details of the unit # we booked - which airbnb doesn’t specify. He nearly turned us away. Thankfully, another worker overheard our convo and came out & was familiar with south seas airbnb rental. He was able to provide us with our villa # and assist with check-in but i felt we got lucky he was there! Hopefully they will train/inform all employees about the airbnb rental so no one else runs into a similar issue.”airbnb

“Great place we had been there before and now that the storm is a few years farther out it was even more epic. Lots of pools and the waterpark onsite was great for our kids. I didnt realize that they could charge an amenities fee if we booked on Airbnb as I thought all fees had to be included. That was disappointing.”airbnb

“Our family loved South Seas! My kids had an amazing time. We found everything so convenient. Yes, there’s a lot of construction going on, but that was not an issue at all. The views are amazing, and the beach was gorgeous. We even saw dolphins and manatees. It was worth the money, and we are definitely looking forward to coming back soon. For sure a core memory for my kids!”airbnb

“South Seas truly was nice, the space, resort, and island are absolutely beautiful. That said, this is not a regular Airbnb, it’s inside a resort, and we wish a few things had been clearer upfront. It’s a cashless, cardless resort, so everything runs on a card hold. On arrival they place a hold of nearly $1,500 about $1,000 for resort charges plus close to $500 in taxes and fees(could vary based on stay). The hold is returned upon check out depending on how much you spend within the resort. In the listing the fees are shown as percentages, which made it really hard to picture the actual total. The check-in process needs work. Our 4pm check-in slipped to 5 because housekeeping was behind, and you don’t get your room number until they text you it’s ready so we were left waiting with no timeline. Oddly, friends who booked an Airbnb in this same resort but managed by a private owner had no card hold and a much simpler check-in. Ours being resort-managed meant different rules and access.”airbnb
