Sleepy Forest Resorts (Sleepy Forest Cottages)

Sleepy Forest Resorts (Sleepy Forest Cottages)'s guest rating of 4.59 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

Great place and great value. The only reason I’m dinging it a star and giving it 4/5 is because the place doesn’t have a fan and the window AC unit is pretty weak. It got uncomfortably warm in the afternoon and evening after it spent all day warming up in July.

The place itelf was comfortable, and good for the price. In decent shape on the inside, but the outside, especially the porch needs a lot of work, paint peeling, dirty. Communiccation was difficult at times, the person on the other end never gives their name and was misleading, causing me to worry about the heat. The person on other end has also apparently never been to the property., which made communication more difficult.

This is my second time at Sleepy Forest and I can’t brag enough about it! I’m a single who travels alone and these are just the right spot for smaller parties. It was sooo quiet and peaceful. The room was so cozy and welcoming . These cottages are literally something you can do on a short notice. There is a tv and streaming services , WiFi, and a gas fireplace. The shower had two head. Initially I was worried that would mean I would have to take a sheet shower but the hot water heater is big enough to handle it! I walked to the village a few times , and to the park to shoot some hoop. Big 5 right across for my sporting good and 7-11 in case you forget something . I can’t wait to go back !

Stayed 2 nights for $165. The listing was accurate and the space itself was comfortable. Issues included a showerhead that sprayed outward, causing water to splash across the bathroom, and a mini fridge/freezer that was not well maintained. The freezer had heavy frost buildup and the fridge only kept items cool, not properly cold. The main issue was communication and check-in. I completed a required third-party verification before receiving access instructions. I informed the host I’d arrive around 9:30 PM and received repeated automated messages containing the door code and instructions. When I asked for clarification on “access code” vs door code, my question wasn’t answered directly, just the same information repeated, which made check-in confusing. There was also mention of a $100 fee if assistance was needed after 9 PM, which added pressure during arrival. Overall, the space was fine but maintenance issues and unclear, impersonal communication affected the experience.

This place does not look accurate to the description in the listing. It was honestly super dirty and I had a super disgusting smell in the house the moment you walked in we literally had to leave the door and windows open even though it was super cold. To top it off, there was mold in the restroom, and most of the fixtures were full of rust. Luckily, we only stayed one night. This place is literally a nightmare would not recommend to stay here. Also, the tub was what caught our attention and it was super dirty and yellow with mold marks in the wood trimming. Also, the description doesn’t say that the tub is literally right in the living room as soon as you walk in through the door. And to top it off when I asked for a refund I got $5 back that’s literally an insult in itself. I truly truly truly would not recommend staying at this place.

Wasn’t able to get a hold of anyone for two days. I had a call Airbnb so that they could try to get a hold of the host and they also weren’t able to.

Host is predatory, neglecting the property! 1. Couch leg completely snapped off. Numerous nails & screws in couch leg showing that this has broken numerous times. Prior reviews talk note this, has never been fixed. Informed host. No one followed up. 2. It's winter, there are no blankets. The office said they had no extra blankets. 3. Bathroom was gross, hair in the tub, we didn't use it. 4. Kitchen is not stocked, had broken knives, no extra trash bags. 5. Only 1 stove burner works. 6. Found a moisture container in the bedroom covered in black MOLD. We slept next to black mold for 3 nights unknowingly. 6. Bed leg broken, being held together by duck tape. 7. When we contacted the property manager about issues, he threatened us, told us he would make our lives difficult if we reported him, said he had a team of lawyers on standby. I am an attorney so just hung up & went straight to Airbnb directly, host said he could take the negative review because he has 500+ great reviews. Awful.
