Sid Was Here's guest rating of 4.62 is below average and may adversely impact performance. “Our family had a wonderful time at Sid’s place! The house was clean, comfortable, and well equipped with everything we needed in the kitchen. The location was excellent — just a short walk to the beach and right next to a grocery store, which was very convenient. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back if we visit Tybee Island again. Highly recommended!”airbnb

“I am sad to leave this review as Sid was a lovely host and very responsive. But the place is just not worth it. The house seems to be a flip with all the corners cut. The foundation is not well maintained and it’s evident the house is on its last leg. The first thing I noticed was a stench from then trash bin that was already full. This later impacted our ability with storing trash. Secondly, as soon as you enter the house, the vinyl flooring is cracking in spots throughout the house where it seems the foundation is bottoming out. My family tried our best to avoid using the front door for fear that the floor would give out and we would be liable. Third, the king bed frame broke on the first day and I had to fix it. Other minor nuisances, the side gate is broken so we couldn’t leave our dogs out. I found two roaches, the water filter in the fridge needed replacement so we could not drink from the fridge, there’s only one TV for the whole house, and WiFi sucked.”airbnb

“Do not stay here. The house has a terrible musty smell that doesn’t go away, flooring bends and cracks. Owner did not mow lawn for two weeks, the gate to the fenced area is loos and the post could be pulled out of the ground. Beds are lumpy and uncomfortable. Cookware was warped and covered in carbon. Dryer doesn’t dry, probably because the lint trap that’s in the dryer doesn’t actually fit and there is a buildup of lint. . All of the furniture in the living room has cuts on the sides that have been sewn together. All the furniture has an electric recliner, but it skips/jumps like something is broken. Internet didn’t work when we arrived, it took the owner 5 days to call the Internet company to replace the missing power cord. Only one tv, in the living room on mantle, with a cord draping to the plug on the nearest wall. Spiders and bugs in the house… It would probably be fine for one night, but For 200 dollars a night your money is better spent elsewhere.”airbnb

“Roaches. Not water bugs. Actual roaches. We stayed for two nights and that third day a roach crawled across me and my 10 month old baby while I was changing him. We noticed dead water bugs behind the TV but because they were dead, it didn’t bother us. There is dog hair everywhere all over the couch. It smells like dog. When we told the host that there were roaches, she sent an exterminator and the exterminator came in unannounced while we were still there unannounced. The exterminator said the host told him we were gone and when I told the host what he said, she said it was the exterminator‘s fault that he just assumed we were gone. But even if the exterminator had come in and sprayed, I have three kids. I don’t see how that would’ve helped anything because then there would’ve been poison on the floor and the roaches still would be there. I do not recommend going here. It needs a lot of work before people should actually stay here.”airbnb

“This is one stay I won't repeat, definitely not worth paying a thousand dollars for 3 nights. The house is very old, floors are bumpy, smells weird, roaches crawling around. The hotel tiny soap in a plastic wrap for a family of 5 was crazy. Need new towels. The host responded quickly with the hot water smelling like rotten eggs. The plumber was gagging while draining the tank. We had to use wipes to freshen up for 2 days. I ended up staying the remainder of my stay at Springfield by Marriot turned out so much better, super clean with amenities and free breakfast, such a better way to spend money in this economy. Felt like a waisted hard earn money on this old house.”airbnb

“Worst experience- do not stay here I booked this for 3 months for work and the experience was awful. Drove 7 hrs to get there and arrived at night. The fact there were NO lights to enter home (back of property) was the first red flag. I had to put my car high beams on just to see where I was going. That night I was woken up by sirens, police and ambulances, 2 times. In the morning I could see clearly the rusted appliances, metal door and run down house, unkept yard and junk piled in the neighbors yard next door. Then at 10am, the backyard neighbor put her dog outside and it barked ALL DAY until 5 pm. I sent a note to Sid, she expected me to call Animal Control. She said she’d take care of it, but did not. That was the tip of the iceberg. The 2nd night, I was awoken 3 times by sirens.Add in the shady characters walking across the street and I felt in danger. I couldn’t leave fast enough. Airbnb who allowed me to send dozens of pictures and videos to show what I was experiencing”airbnb
