Manager Review

Scenic Wonders

Scenic Wonders's guest rating of 4.75 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“I didn’t notice no bathroom on second floor when booking. No table in front of couch and tv controls were a mess. Kitchen was good. Hot tub was nice. Instructions for trash were bad as we couldn’t find the dumpster he was talking about or where to put recycling”

“The cabin was built in the 80s, so we found the vintage decor really charming. We also ran into a few minor issues with the place. The power went out in one of the bathrooms. TV screen was broken, but able to play movies. We saw a mouse in the living room, and it quickly disappeared. We heard it make noise throughout our stay. Also, you may want to bring your own hair products (shampoo/conditioner) and cooking oil, which are not provided. It’s a convenient drive from local markets, and only a 40 minute drive to Yosemite Valley if you take Wawona Road north. We had a fun time grilling on the balcony and relaxing by the fireplace. Overall it was a pleasant stay with a great location!”

“I had some issues with getting into my room. Ended up calling the contact number and was moved to another room. Once we got in and settled, we were pleased. Never did get WiFi though. The apartment was cozy and comfortable. I would stay again. Shayla communicated well and corrected the problem.”

“We stayed for two nights with two kids. Kids loved the loft. Only thing I missed is we should book large loft which have 2 beds in the upstairs for family. Sofa bed is ok but not that comfort as regular bed, and it would occupy the downstair area for kids playing.”

“The property itself was small and quite dated, and definitely a little rough around the edges, but it was comfortable and kept clean. My biggest disappointment was how the situation surrounding the Dome Fire was handled. We booked only seven days before our stay, immediately after securing our Yosemite permit. The very next day we learned about the Dome Fire and contacted Steve to ask whether he might consider either a refund or a credit toward a future stay. I completely understood that the reservation was technically nonrefundable, but given the circumstances, I hoped there might be some flexibility. A day later, Yosemite closed our trailhead and our original trip was effectively canceled. There was also intermittent smoke in the area. I reached out again and explained what had happened, but Steve declined to offer any accommodation, saying it was too last-minute, even though we had only just booked the property ourselves. Ultimately, I accept responsibility for booking a nonrefundab”

“This is a no frills studio. You’re basically paying premium price to be close to Yosemite, but that’s it. Beds were not super comfortable, and it got kinda loud starting around 5am when people were leaving from other rooms, so I didn’t get much sleep. Kitchen is a bit cramped but functional. Some light bulbs didn’t work, so it was kinda dark in one part of the living room. Wi-fi was pretty sporadic, and my phone had no signal, so it was hard to look up things like the weather/smoke forecast or trail conditions. Positives: spacious, clean, and easy to check-in. Overall, I am satisified because we got a discount but I probably wouldn’t book this place again at its regular price. Their booking policy is pretty strict, too.”

“The place fitted our needs and was clean. We didn’t know it is a condo building. The room was good except the sofa bed.”
