Salty Dog Vacations
4.75Visit website
Salty Dog Vacations's guest rating of 4.75 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“The biggest concern was the condition and cleanliness of the unit. The property did not match the photos in terms of upkeep and cleanliness. There was cracked tile in the living room that created a safety hazard, especially since we had children with us. We were concerned a child could easily cut their foot, so we ended up covering it with a towel for the entire trip. There was also cracked tile on the balcony floor. Also, there was red splatter on the living room wall that appeared to be some type of food stain, which should have been cleaned before guests arrived. Another major disappointment was the pool. One of the main reasons we chose this property was because we were traveling with kids and wanted access to the pool. Unfortunately, it was closed from Friday through Sunday morning with no explanation provided, which was very inconvenient and disappointing for the children. Overall, the beach location was excellent & still made the best of it!”airbnb

“Nice size home for family. Neighbor kept looking into our yard! Spiderwebs throughout home, mold smell, peeling paint, needs maintenance throughout home. Filthy and stained carpet. Carrie trip hazard in master upstairs. Master bath is horrible for bathing unless you’re a small child. No beach accessories so we had to buy $200 worth of stuff. ( that we have a t home already). Squirrels in attic. Left side soffit missing so we heard them every night. Patio furniture full of rust and detonating. Outside outlet left uncovered and exposed to rain. Visible foundation issues on exterior cmu walls. Left behind trash and items from last visitors. Sandals, trash, baby bottle. AC worked great. BBQ grill needs to go in the trash: rusted and full of sand, that sucked because we wanted to grill. Someone should have thoroughly checked this home before hosting another family. Not satisfied price paid for this Airbnb. Misleading and not cleaned, safety issues.”airbnb

“We loved the beachfront location and overall had a great stay. However, it’s important to note that this property may not be suitable for guests with mobility or handicap needs due to accessibility concerns. The parking situation was also a bit disappointing. We rented two condos but were limited to only two parking passes total, with any additional vehicles needing to park off property. Overall, we enjoyed our time here, but we’ll likely keep our options open for next year.”airbnb

“The price for the stay was economical, but the broken elevator almost trapped us and other guests after the signs were removed, the safety pressure plate was disabled and could cause serious harm or injury. My husband and I had to help several other guests getting on and off the elevator because the door kept prematurely closing on the guests and did not stop closing even with something between the door and the opening. The room and floor had a .musty, sickly sweet odor that did not go away. the ottoman in the living room had a leg that fell off we tried reattaching and one of the window blinds came down when trying to open the window.”airbnb

“Both toilets didn't work properly and kitchen sink had a leak and it wasn't a new leak.. We only had two rolls of paper towels and the one in kitchen was soaked. Repairman came out and basically said we didn't know how to flush the toilet! Didn't work properly after he left.”airbnb

“We have been going to Daytona beach for four years now. We have stayed in this complex previously, a few floors higher, and enjoyed the area. We selected this unit, this time because it advertised having queen beds. It did NOT have 4 queen beds!! We were totally disappointed and uncomfortable in the full size bed. The toaster only worked on one side. The side that did work had to have the handle manually held down to work, @ 5 minutes per English muffin times 8 people for six days, not fun. We did notify the management company and their response was we do know about the toaster and have reached out to get it resolved. They never did. All in all we love the area and other than these items we had a good time. I would not have booked this knowing it had a full/bunk bed in one of the rooms. We had four couples and would have liked to have the queen beds. Also the electric outlet on the balcony did not work even resetting it. Thank you.”airbnb

“The place was as expected and was comfortable. The views were beautiful and sunrises were spectacular. Upon arrival it smelled like there was a fish fry and we had to get air fresher and fridge cleaning supplies. It dissipated as we stayed there but the remnant smell was pretty bad. They do need a deep clean in the fridge, dishwasher and kitchen. Everything else was great and we spent much time outside.”airbnb

“There was no disclosure of any cameras on this property. There’s even one in the laundry room pointed right at you when you walk in the door! Probably others we didn’t find. If you lay out on the back patio, you’ll be recorded. So don’t do that. We would not have booked this place had they mentioned there were ring cameras everywhere. We don’t book properties that have cameras. We felt uncomfortable the whole time here after we noticed them. Would not recommend unless you’re cool with someone watching you. That one small detail that wasn’t disclosed ruined our whole vacation that we only get to do once a year.”airbnb

“Unfortunately, I had a poor experience. There was a scheduling conflict. As a Airbnb host myself these things happen and you work with the customer to resolve unfortunately they were not able to do that though we did respond consistently an early. I would not recommend working with. They’re staying with this host as occasionally plans change and the expectation as a Airbnb host myself is that. People and customers to resolve.”airbnb

“The place is absolutely beautiful. It’s a true ocean view. The not giving 5 stars is due to information not being passed along correctly and us being left outside for nearly an hour at 2am. I had to make over 5 calls out to the property manager to see how we would be able to get inside. Took 10 minutes of banging on the main entrance and waking up the building maintenance person to get us inside the building. I’ll be reaching out Airbnb to further resolve my concerns.”airbnb
