Salt Water Vacations

“The condo itself is absolutely beautiful. It is nicely decorated, clean and spacious. The condo is located within the Tops’l Racquet and Beach Club. If you do not book directly with Tops’l then you will have no access to any of the amenities, including the other swimming pools, that are on the property. You will only be able to use the swimming pool at The Summit building where this condo is located. We found out the hard way unfortunately. After speaking with the saltwater vacations property manager on Monday, I was told that I missed the email advising of the new restrictions that Tops’l placed on 6/18. I looked through my email numerous times. I never received an email. Even though I did enjoy this condo I would not stay here again just because of how rude. the people at Tops’l are and how entitled they act about their amenities. Definitely felt like I was getting “stepchild” treatment.”

“Place was in a nice location. Close to a lot of shopping centers and the beach. Enjoyed it.”

“The pool was not usable for 3 or more days. The guy cleaning it said there was a leak. The owner said therr was not The ph balance was off. I asked for a partial refund due to the pool and the tried to send free tickets. Before you stay make sure the pool is fixed. Also, my son had to fix the drains because they were not draining. very disappointed .”

“house is beautiful, location is perfect & within walking distance from the beach! lots of shopping & restaurants within a few miles of house. unfortunately, we had some hiccups. first, communication is not a strong suit with this company. there was no hand soap, no beach towels, one roll of paper towels, 3 rolls of toilet paper, and the outside shower was nonfunctional. the lights on the gazebo are also nonfunctional. the photos did not exactly match the house. blinds are broken, the house color is changed which made finding the house a little difficult, the downstairs bathroom toilet handle is hanging off and barely functioning. doors are coming off the hinges (literally), top bunk of bunkbed is extremely wobbly and very dangerous for kids to be sleeping on. i feel as though i did not get my moneys worth and im pretty disappointed. my family and i even left a day early because it just did not meet our expectations.”

“Our vacation started out very disappointing as we originally booked a place with RealJoy We got to the house we had rented thru them and it wasn’t clean or ready for us after we drove for hours They were very hard to deal with and thankfully Airbnb stepped in and assisted with salt water vacations We will never use RealJoy vacation again to book they are very incompetent as a company”

“The overall stay was nice. The place was very clean and felt like being at home. The location is great! Just a quick walk to the beach and plenty to do around the surrounding area. Small hiccup was the resort changed some rules upon us arriving and we weren’t informed about the changes on some things that we were and weren’t aloud to use which made a small inconvenience just because we had kids with us. But other than that it’s a nice place to stay.”

“The water was turned off when we arrived to the Airbnb, we missed our entire first night of vacation waiting for maintenance to arrive. The water was turned back on around 8:30/9 o’clock. We noted several issues like a broken window pane, broken furniture and fridge when checking in. Later we discovered stains in the shower and bugs in several of the rooms. The Airbnb was clearly not checked before we check in. Beautiful location but definitely needs more attention and work.”

“I would stay at Destin West again. Pro’s: location, washer/dryer in unit, kitchen well stocked for cooking, great view, a lot of pools, private hot tub, gulf and bay access with the skywalk. Con’s: this condo was nice but needed some TLC. There was some damaged furniture upon arrival including the living room chair. Linens need to be upgraded - super thin linens blankets. No extra blankets provided. It took two days to get the pier gate access code. The listing said there was a grill because it was rooftop, but we didn’t have the private grill we were expecting. Overall, we adjusted and made it a great trip.”
