“We want to come back. This home and grounds invite rest, relaxation, recreation, and great times together. The house was impeccably clean. The outdoor spaces enchanting and inviting. It was super easy access to fun on the river. The floor plan of this home allows space for multiple guests to have their privacy while also providing great options for the group to hang out. Loved the deck, the patio, the hot tub, the yard, the nice bathrooms. Well done, designed and maintained.”

“We had an amazing stay! Lovely spot right on the river and exactly as described. Lots of beautiful wildlife right off the back porch, quiet neighborhood with easy beach access, and a cozy porch to enjoy the sunshine. We would definitely look to stay here again!”

“Wonderful stay. Very peaceful and quiet place on a seldom traveled 1 lane road. There is a house next door but no windows face it so you really don't notice it. You have a creek on two sides and a little county lane in front of the house. The creek is easily accessible and is a nice place to just chill. Wonderful spot that we will stay in again.”

“We had a wonderful time at Beach Retreat. House is comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the kayaks. It’s a few minute walk to get the kayaks down to the beach but worth it. The deck is lovely. We sat out each night to a full moon. We will be back.”

“Such a lovely, peaceful, and perfect spot for a swimming adventure with friends. Make sure there is two of you to put the cover back on the hot tub though. It is very heavy and bulky. I can't wait to plan my next trip here.”

“Home had plenty of space for us four. My wife and I stayed in the larger of the upstairs bedrooms and our son stayed in the other. Both had Queen beds. My mother in law stayed in the downstairs bedroom with the King size bed. Bathrooms were spacious enough, though the upstairs shower was like a telephone booth. Small but got the job done. Furniture is rather dated, but clean.”

“Had a pleasant stay with our adult children and spouses. Fun/quirky property. Beautiful setting. Well-stocked kitchen. Would happily rate 5 stars and stay again after a little maintenance and TLC: Burned out light bulbs, dust showing on the dark wood, broken back rest on one of the patio loungers, one toilet that runs if you don't jiggle the handle and another that has a leak in the tank and refills randomly, a shower in the master we couldn't get to stop dripping for the life of us or get a good stream from, no mirror in the master tall enough for my 6' 2" husband to shave in, missing light switch parts, dead bugs behind picture glass and a broken washing machine that was promptly repaired. All minor issues, but there seemed to be a lot of them. Communicated most of these issues in real time with our host who assured me they would be addressed.”

“Neighbor had no problems walking into the closed back yard. She just barged in and told us what she wanted then stormed out with a “oh yea. Thank you” and walked off. Completely scared my kids to the point they wanted to go home. That all being said the home was wonderful, clean and everything we wanted and needed. My recommendation is buy a cheap lock for the gate and have a great week. Seriously wonderful home. Just a shitty neighbor.”

“First, this is not a a property near a beach, unlike the name of the property.. The house is several hundred yards from the Riverhead. The pictures in the listing really do not represent the worn down feeling of the interior. The supplied notebook with info had a lot of conflicting information that required me to clarify with the owner. We arrived and had been notified that the power was out in the main living space, but that would be corrected that day. That did not happen so we did not have light in the living room, dining room and one wall of a bedroom. The kayaks were in deplorable condition – covered in cobwebs and ants, one of them with electrical tape over a hole, and they were extremely heavy to drag down to the river. I communicated with the owner promptly about all of these issues, and she said she wasn’t sure what to do to make our stay more comfortable. I asked her for a one night refund which she did readily, but I was disappointed that that wasn’t offered immediately”
