“What a great place to stay! The access to the river was awesome, the views were amazing, and the beds upstairs were comfortable. The beds downstairs weren't as comfortable, but still worth the stay for sure.”

“The home was set among the redwoods. The creek was right out the back door. Was a little steep, but walkable. The home was beautiful, quite, large enough for the four of us and dog. We had a great time, and will be back to the river again.”

“Overall the home was comfortable and clean and we really enjoyed our stay, however the two people staying in the downstairs room complained of hearing rodents scurrying inside the walls, particularly at night. In addition, both of the cars we took were 4WD but the gravel driveway at the bottom of the hill was still very tricky to get up on and slippery. Apart from that, the rest of the stay was enjoyable.”

“Great location, nice house, responsive agency. Would have been 4-5 star in all categories except that we didnt have hot water on one of our two nights (hot water was fixed at 10:30pm - past kids bedtime). Hot water is a basic feature for a stay at a summer house. Its a lot more than the blender not working. We were offered $85 off a rental that was $525 a night. Not even in the ballpark of fair or balanced.”

“Beautiful home. Amazing grounds. Great location. Perfect for a group gathering. Check-in was at four--pretty late in my opinion. Kept asking about an early check-in but in the end, they did not respond to my inquiry with a yes or no, so I dropped it.”

“Lovely property — the patio and hot tub were genuinely a highlight, and the home matched the listing. A few things kept it from being a great stay rather than just a good one. The propane on the barbecue was left on overnight by previous guests, which felt unsafe; the after-hours contact info exists but is easy to miss in the welcome message and we didn’t know until the next morning who to call, so would be more useful surfaced more clearly. Small touches were also missing — no hand soap in the bathroom, and no starter coffee (the listing does mention guests bring their own, but at this price a courtesy amount would go a long way). For other dog owners: pet-friendly, but no grass area on site, so plan your walks accordingly.”

“I had a very disappointing experience here. Our two night stay was in mid January, and the temperature at night was in the 30s, but the heater for the house did not work, or more specifically, there were no instructions in the house manual or anywhere about how to operate the heating system. It’s an unusual system in that one has to turn on all of the radiators all over the house to a certain temperature level in order for the central control (Nest) to function. Since we had no way of knowing that, we spent a miserably cold night in the house and ended up leaving the next day, unwilling to risk another night of severe discomfort since it is an old house and does not seem to have much insulation. (Even our large dog was shivering that night). Yes, we contacted the “host” the first evening when we realized there was a problem. No, they did not get back to us until the next morning. They were apologetic in a fake sounding kind of way, but unwilling to provide even a tiny refund.”
