“The buildup to our stay went very well and Nelly was very responsive and helpful. However, when we arrived which was later than our agreed check-in time (with my wife, 2 year old and 9 month old) we found the place to be mid deep clean and in a non-habitable state. We found hairs and fresh stains in the sheets which we had been told had been cleaned. Furthermore, we were given no notice of any cleaning delay by Nelly. When we informed Nelly of the issue she told us that she didn’t want to stress out her cleaner and promptly cancelled our entire 5 week stay. As such we were left homeless by Nelly at 5pm and forced to make stressful alternative arrangements for our night. Further than that we were left with extremely limited options to rebook given how long we needed a property for (we were in transit between the UK and Dallas). All in all a very strange experience which was unnecessarily stressful for me and my family.”

“Excellent Location put me in walking distance of everything I needed. Would happily stay there again if I end up back in the area.”

“Overall, okay stay with all necessary amenities and in a convenient area in Oak Lawn. I originally reserved the host’s other unit which was canceled about <1 week prior and they stated they were changing the AC unit. At that time, the communication was very rushed and rude. I had no choice as there were no other available Airbnbs in the area that I needed to be close to so I booked their other unit.”

“Great choice for a long-term stay. I spent about two months here with my dog and there is easy access right outside anytime my dog needed to go out. There’s even a little porch area, which is fenced in that my dog was able to spend some time in as well outside. The neighborhood is nice as well. Never had an issue with Safety walking anywhere in the blocks around the apartment.”

“Loved our one-month stay! Spacious, comfortable house in a great walkable area close to Uptown, with everything we needed for a longer stay, including a well-equipped kitchen with everything we needed for cooking. Dog-friendly 🐶 and the monthly price was a great value. We felt right at home and would happily stay again!”

“My experience staying here was amazing. The location was fantastic and the host was quick the respond and very helpful––I would definitely stay here again. The only confusion during my month-long stay was about the utility bill. The host originally said in the agreement that "electricity usage is covered up to $200/month [and] any overage will be billed back." My electricity bill ended up about around $245 at the end of the month. The host then messaged me that they would be billing me for around $195 to cover the overage and that they would only cover $50. I was confused and referred back to our original agreement message. Ultimately, the host honored our original agreement and said that they "updated it because it is a one bedroom apartment." I thought that was strange since the Airbnb was ALWAYS a one bedroom, and they didn't communicate beforehand the change in agreement. It ended up being fine, but be aware of communication and what you agree to while booking just in case!”

“I’m not one to be negative, but unfortunately the Host is not honest. Beware of this property. Skip this and go to the next as I’d prefer not see anyone else go through what I did.”

“Great walkable neighborhood and large space! We loved the patio to sit outside and drink coffee and the wifi was great for working remote! Lots to do and see in this neighborhood!!”

“The host was responsive and polite, and early check-in was appreciated. However, this was not a good experience overall. The biggest issue is that the actual apartment location is about 4–5 blocks away from the map area shown before booking, directly next to one of the busiest streets in the area. Because of this, the apartment is very noisy: constant traffic, poor window insulation, and airplanes flying overhead throughout the day and evening. The area is convenient for restaurants and cafés, but there are also homeless people around regularly. During my stay, there were repeated AC issues, temperatures reaching around 78–80°F, water leaking from the ceiling, and multiple maintenance visits over several days. I also experienced privacy concerns after maintenance workers were given access codes and attempted to enter the apartment without proper coordination. The host tried to help, but overall the stay was stressful and inconvenient. Personally, I would not stay here again.”

“unfortunately during our stay we ran into a situation with a lady claiming she was the owner that was cleaning the main unit right after new years. Which made us feel uncomfortable & made my husband feel racially profiled. Not sure if it was because he’s black which is RACIST. We had gotten back to the unit I got off to get ready my husband stayed in the car. we were going to leave again. My husband was drowsy from drinking his medicine & feel asleep he was out there a good 20 minutes until he calls me saying there a lady by his window harassing him telling him what is he doing there she’s going to call the Cops he looks suspicious she’s been watching him he been asleep in the car for 20 minutes I come out I’m telling her we are renting there. My husband asking her who is she. She claiming she’s the owner that she has scrubs with a logo on which proves nothing. My concern is if ur the owner u should know u have guess in the back. The lady was very unprofessional. Do not recommend…”
