Real Escapes Properties
4.75Visit website
Real Escapes Properties's guest rating of 4.75 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“We weren’t made aware of the construction next door nor were we given the option to choose another property because of it. Our stay was Sat-Thurs, of which Mon, Tues & Wed, from 8am-5/6pm, the roof was being done. So there was NO privacy at the pool. We had strange men viewing my daughter, daughter in law, baby & myself the entire time we attempted to use the pool/pool area. Total ick. There were nail guns for the majority of this time, saws & hammer noise, air compressor noise, so loud we could not have conversation between ourselves at a normal level. The noise could also be heard inside the house. The sunroom & 2nd living area could be viewed directly from the construction/rooftop. No curtains. No blinds. Cringe. This was our family vacation. Not acceptable, enjoyable or relaxing to say the least. When reaching out on Tuesday to address the issue, we were told that they were not aware of construction next door nor had the “cleaning crew informed them”. Poor deflection.”airbnb

“Plenty of space for our large family. Nice short walk to the beach.”airbnb

“I would not choose to stay with Real Escapes Properties again. Initial communication was good, and we added an extra night without issue. My significant other checked in around 7pm Friday; I arrived around 2am Saturday after a 15-hour drive. His welcome packet with our keys wasn’t there — though multiple packets labeled with other guests’ names and the address were, accessible to anyone (poor physical security). He called the emergency line three times before someone brought keys. Reaching them at 2am alone would’ve been awful. They apologized for not using the after-hours box. Cleanliness was also an issue: a yellow-stained shower curtain (unanswered when I messaged hosts), stains on the living room couch, and — most upsetting — my daughter’s pillows were stained yellow beneath the covers, found while stripping beds at checkout. I’ve never experienced this level of neglect with any past Airbnb. Positives: location, a pond with turtles my daughter loved, and fully stocked kitchen”airbnb

“We enjoyed our stay here. The home was clean, well stocked and in a great location for walking to shopping, parks, pier and restaurants. The only negative thing to say is that it is advertised as having beach access in one block. This access is not for spending a day at the beach because it is fully dependent on low tide which only lasts for an hour or so. It is beautiful though and the house was great.”airbnb

“The condo itself was very nice, quiet, clean and well maintained. The only negative was some miscommunication between the management. We were told we could check in at 12, but when we got there at 3 the cleaning crew (a group of very kind ladies) had just started cleaning and were not made aware of our early check in. They worked very quickly to get us in and were exceptional. The only other complaint is that the location on the listing is NOT where the condo is. The listing shows the location where the property management is, where you pick up the key. The actual condo is much further inland and not very walkable. That did not end up being the worst location, but I wish I would have known. Our stay was clean, quiet and other than check in there were no issues at all”airbnb

“We loved the location, across from beach and close to town! The porch was one highlight for us because it rained a couple days when we were there, so we sat under cover and watched the storm and ocean. It also has a nice size table on the porch, 2 wicker chairs with ottomans & 2 chaise lounges. The attached bathrooms for all 3 bedrooms were also very helpful, plus a powder room. Also, the place has had some updates from the pictures, new paint colors, bed covers and removal of some outdated furnishings. Bring your own shampoo bc not provided.”airbnb

“It’s a decent house for the area, but was disappointed in the simple amenities - we only had the plastic wrapped soap bars that crumbled when you opened them for our three night stay. House was not easily accessible either, the “key pick up” was downtown and unnecessary.”airbnb

“I think that you should take this AirBnb for what it is. Lots of bedrooms and near the beach. The only complaint is that you have to pick up a key for a different location to check in, and they don’t provide a ton of cleaning things like trash bags etc.”airbnb

“Good initial communication and permitted early access on the day of arrival. The Real escapes office was somewhat challenging to find particularly given it was our first visit to the area. The photos and description are accurate although the body of water is more of a pond than a lake. The presence of the turtles and catfish was a nice surprise and the provision of turtle food was a plus. While it was great that this property is located on a corner lot it is in an area where the houses are close together, the roads are narrow with trees in the middle of some of them and no sidewalks. We are very appreciative that this is pet friendly as well as having a small fenced backyard. Due to an accident we had to leave early. Real escapes did not acknowledge the notification that I provided them via the AirBNB messaging service.”airbnb

“This was a disappointing home due to the lack of cleanliness. The home itself has a great layout and offers plenty of room for a large family. The backyard and pool area are very small. The home has definitely had some wear on it. Unfortunately, the home was not cleaned at check-in. All interior rugs were stained as well as 5 of the 6 mattresses (yellow stains on all). Bed pillows were flat and stained. Excessive mildew in shower and washing machine, which had a sour smell. Refrigerator had a spill between the shelving that had not been cleaned. Inside trash can was filthy from old, household trash. The pool/decking were full of debris. A used ZYN patch was stuck to the side of a bed. Do NOT use kitchen spices and/or food that you did not bring when you travel. The flour was in a clear canister and it was full of bugs/mites. We sent concerns to the Property Mgr at check-in and never received a call. We had to call them on day 3 to speak with someone.”airbnb
