“The home was lovely but the couch was very soggy and comfortable. There was also a broken recliner and the primary suite bed had a dent in the middle of the bed. I sent a message to management and they said they would send out maintenance but no one showed for the entire weekend. Once my remaining guest arrived they had experienced issues as well, like the toilet paper holder in the basement bathroom falling and a bathroom knob falling off. This was absolutely the worst rental I have ever rented from Airbnb.”

“Beautiful, peaceful house — perfect for a family staying for a long weekend! We loved all the amenities like the hot tub, the pool table, and the games. The space has lots of room to spread out comfortably for a big group. One note is that the house doesn’t have a ton of kitchen supplies, so if you’re planning on cooking a fair amount I’d bring some of your own items. Overall, highly recommend for a big group!”

“We’ve been told to bring wood/extra blankets but that was already in the house. The house is pretty but needs to be cleaner: Pillows/blankets/rags looks and smells dirty Not having toilet paper or paper towel is a first ! Slow communication. Jaccuzzi s water is not clean : lot of hair / dirt on the sides. Needs to be emptied and cleaned. Sofa bed is super old and not comfortable at all. We loved having enough towels and large space. Beds are comfy. We loved the view, grill, outdoor chairs and location.”

“I had a relaxing stay! I especially enjoyed seeing the animals in the area, walking down to the dock, and relaxing in the hot tub. The home was clean, and the instructions provided were clear and helpful. We did experience a hiccup on checkout day, along with some issues with the dishwasher. Overall, the stay went well. I also left some extra firewood for the next guests to enjoy. Thank you for hosting us.”

“Spider webs could be removed from doors before check-in, and 2 attempts to interrupt the flow of the day. There was someone that showed up randomly with what looked like pesticides unknowingly, then later that day there was a call to maintenance the fireplace. The view from hot tub was disappointing because of trees not shown in image.”

“Great Location and Spacious. Upholstery could be upgraded given the price but overall, a good experience.”

“Came for a family gathering, in multiple Rainey homes in the area, stayed 4 nights. House was just right for our needs, everyone had their own bedroom, nice home with comfortable furnishings and beds. Bathrooms were sufficient for the 5 of us but more people would mean more sharing. Most everything worked fine, a few maintenance items needed attention but did not bother us. The location is private in a very pleasant setting in the woods above the lake. Plenty to do in the area, we found nice places to eat and shop as needed. Roads are winding and hilly, might be challenging in the winter.”

“On the outside, Discover Serendipity seems to be a nice location for a getaway. However, the house seems to have been built with lower quality building materials, the bathrooms had visible gaps in the walls/showers, there was excessive water damage by the maintenance door near the pool and we were constantly finding bugs despite keeping the doors closed. The kitchen also did not have all the described amenities. Trash bags, toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap and dish soap were not provided and we had to purchase these in addition to basic cookies supplies during our trip. For the amount we paid, we expected a bit more basic essentials to be provided. Lastly, maintenance workers showed up unannounced without advanced noticed from the hosts while we were using the pool and hot tub.”

“Overall, our stay was okay, but there were several issues that significantly impacted our experience. Communication from the host was often slow, and we had to wait long time before being able to access the gate. We also experienced issues with both grills, which were out of gas and unusable upon arrival. It took about a day for someone to come out and replace the gas, which was disappointing since we had planned to use them during our stay. Additionally, we were told that a partial refund would be provided for the inconvenience, but later we were informed that the guest first needed to purchase the gas and submit receipts before reimbursement could be processed. The process was confusing and not clearly communicated. We also felt that some of the verification requirements requested by the host were excessive and unnecessary. While the property itself was acceptable, these issues made the stay more difficult than expected.”

“They promised some supplies to start out with, however there was no oil for cooking at all and very little salt, pepper, plenty of other seasonings most people don't use! No Toilet paper at all.... No coffee pods for the coffee maker, no trash bags, lucky we brought most ourself, otherwise it was a nice stay. The garage you can not lock at all, so anyone likes to come in through the garage door, can just do so...”
