Manager Review

Port A Coastal Getaway

Port A Coastal Getaway's guest rating of 4.44 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“We were disappointed when we reached out to the host to let them know we had seen a few roaches and they responded rudely and asked why we hadn’t reported it sooner instead of acknowledging and taking the feedback. The bathroom amenities were lacking. We were given a tiny bar soap, for 8 total people. While these aren’t a requirement, it was definitely an inconvenience to have to worry about having enough hand soap during our stay. The treatment by the host is what would keep me from coming back here again.”

“First off I wanna say as I was having a question about bringing my pet. I did not say I was going to bring my pet that question was never answered so my pet was left at home while I came to Casa Nemo. The day we were supposed arrive, my daughter calls me and says they are wanting $300 for pet fee. I called Airbnb and told them no pet was coming, said she would remove the $300 fee. Secondly, there was no Internet you had to share remote controls to the TV. This place is nowhere close to the beach and in the lawn going to the swimming pool, was loaded with grass burrs, lawn was mowed, but they were sticking up everywhere, you could not go barefoot without getting them in your feet. Then when I get home, they’re wanting to charge me $300 for having a pet. Is’t that the silliest thing after you already tell the person that you’re not bringing a pet. These people need to get their stuff together.”

“Posted a Kuerig did not have one. No spare sheets. Granddaughter was sick first night and had to sleep on plastic and freeze to death. For what we paid was not equipped well.”

“Stayed in unit 105. I’m not one to write bad reviews but I’ve never experienced anything like this. We arrived a bit late but walked in and immediately dead roaches on the ground and wads of hair. it was a bit muggy so lowered the a/c however just when it was starting to cool off the temperature was raised (not by us) to 78° in the middle of the night. And it kept happening throughout our stay. It wasn’t that it wouldn’t cool it was adjusted back up to a higher temperature and it was 102 outside. I’m paying almost $500 I expect to feel comfortable where I’m staying. The remote not the WiFi worked and when I tried to address all this with the host I felt like I was blown off with their response. I will never stay here again!”

“The place is nice. The pool was nice if it would've been cleaned their barbecue is very old. neighbors too loud hit my truck and the house security cameras weren't working after I talked to someone about the issue and nobody got back with me. No point of having security cameras if they are not working. So now I got left with a dent in my new truck.”

“I’ll start by saying this review would have been so much different if only we would’ve had communication from host! Not a good experience, starting with check in. I was patient all the way up to our check in time and then I had to reach out to ask for the check in instructions- that should have been my first sign of the lack of communication. The place was okay kept. Bed situation was ok except that no additional blankets or pillows were provided for the fold out bed. Then the worst part came, AC issues! We tried calling, messaging, and calling again with zero response. We checked out and still nothing. Lastly, they say to put the trash in the blue bin and there wasn’t one in sight, even after walking around the property. I think all the issues were preventable or fixable if we would’ve had a responsive host. Communication goes a long way.”

“The home was very spacious and worked well for our large family. It had plenty of room for everyone to be comfortable, which we really appreciated. That said, there are a few areas that could be improved. We stayed for three days, and there was no pool maintenance during our visit. The pool accumulated debris and bugs, and there were no tools available, such as a skimmer, to clean it ourselves. My biggest concern, however, was the lack of privacy. There were cameras throughout the exterior of the property, including areas overlooking the pool and outdoor seating. While I understand the need for security, the amount and placement of the cameras made it difficult to fully relax and enjoy the outdoor spaces. Overall, the home has great potential, but addressing these issues would make for a much better guest experience.”

“Host is absolutely horrible. Airbnb messed up our previous booking the somehow through the mess ended up with this $4,300 Airbnb charge. Airbnb fixed the original mess up but we were told we would have to ask the host for a refund on the second property(that we did not book). The host won’t budge even though we explained everything to them. We travel to Port A at least ten times a year, I promise you that I will never consider booking with this company. Some human decency for a screw up with Airbnb. Very thankful for “Life in Paradise” for making it right for us because this company would not.”

“This place is run down and unkept. The host is unresponsive and the pictures are completely misleading. The sink, dishwasher, 3 TVs, and wifi were either not working at all or unusable. The host refused to respond to us on the issues. The downstairs area was completely unlocked with doors wide open. There was excessive trash and even critters crawling around. Honestly the price is no where near worth it. Stay away from this house at all costs.”

“Decided to book multiple families for the same day. Host was quick to accept our change to add pets but unresponsive for updates. Arrived at the location to see they canceled moments before and another family was unpacking. Very inconsiderate to not respond and cancel last minute.”
