Pictured Rocks Vacation Rentals

“The location, apartment itself, and everything the host offered was great. It was a perfect base for exploring Munising, Pictured Rocks, and the surrounding area. However, as soon as we walked in the entire place smelled like cigarette smoke. It was so bad, we had to go buy a plug in air freshener to help with it. We did message the host as soon as we got in, but didn’t get a response until the next day. It seems to be a continuing and known issue, as many others had commented on it after looking more closely at reviews. It’s likely from an adjacent apartment or business, but having an air purifier available to guests would be a great idea. There is also a motion activated light in the main living/sleeping area that is active once lights are out. Even rolling over in bed or adjusting your pillow sets it off. In all, the place was great aside from a couple major details in our opinion. If you’re sensitive to cigarette smoke, this is not the place for you.”

“This place is infested with hundereds of flies which made our stay very unpleasant.”

“3rd bedroom was inside the closet of the 2nd bedroom bathroom shower mat to me was disgusting needs to be replaced pipe coming out of the shower wall that holds the shower head needs to be repaired used mildew loofahs were left in the bathroom in plastic bags along with used deodorants pots and pans are so raggedy that eggs stuck to them. They need to be replaced every utensil in the kitchen needs to be replaced. Actually there were lack of utensils to even use there was no complimentary coffee the spices and seasonings in the kitchen that are so old they have turned to the consistency of a brick they need to be thrown away The kitchen drawers are messy No organization the front cabinet when you come in through the door is messy, no organization also there is no washer and dryer sauna was padlocked so we couldn't use it check out instructions say stripped the bed if you think it needs to be washed! This is a rental! All bedding needs to be stripped and washed lights needed by mailbox”

“The view was amazing and peaceful! I do wish someone would have removed the spider webs from the deck and outdoor furniture before we arrived, I realize that we were in the woods but I didn’t want to sit outside with the webs. The house was nicely furnished and it was easy to find from the instructions. We appreciated the heat controls in all the different rooms, made it easy to sleep but have the bathroom warmer.”

“The apartment was clean and as pictured. A couple of things that I found different from other Airbnbs that I’ve stayed at. First they don’t provide any bathroom shampoo, conditioner or body wash. Not a deal breaker, but something to know ahead of time. Second, after you have booked through Airbnb they send you a text message with a contact to sign for the rental and they communicate all information through a link that you receive via text message. This I didn’t like and kind of felt shady. Third, check out time was 10 am not 11am. This was more an inconvenience, but worth noting.”

“Beautiful cabin. Should be noted that they do not provide shampoo, conditioner, coffee, laundry soap, etc. Given it is far from town that was a surprise and I ended up spending $50 at a local market on supplies that are usually standard at an air bnb.”

“*****PLACE IS OVERPRICED - KNOW THIS WHEN BOOKING***** -Host takes 3-12+ hours to respond. -Location is directly on the Main Street that runs into town - you will need to back your car into the driveway just to pull out safely. ?There is not room to two cars in the driveway due to overgrowth. -There is an odd odor to the house - its like a masked musk smell. -Only one bedroom has a mirror, Each room has a space for one -We were left 8 sheets of paper towel to use, asked host where more was, told to get more for cleaning closet, cleaning closet was locked - asked host about this - received request for a phone call from host - host never called after giving them my number - whole interaction took 2+ days -Bathroom had dirt on counter and dead bugs found on floor in house -You will be expected to perform chores when staying at this location per host request *****PLACE IS OVERPRICED - KNOW THIS WHEN BOOKING***** *****PLACE IS OVERPRICED - KNOW THIS WHEN BOOKING***** PLACE IS OVERPRICED!!!!”

“House was clean and as described. Very noisy area with vehicles driving past constantly. While we had no major issues, there were a few items where responsiveness would’ve really helped from the management to make the stay better. The communication was so slow that we found there was no point to reaching out. Ultimately, everything worked out and the property worked for our family.”

“We had a great time here and loved the space. It is quiet and peaceful. However, communication with the listing manager was very poor. On the day of our check in, we not receive check in instructions or directions to the house. Eventually, just a few hours before check in, we called the listing manager to ask for them. Before this they had not responded to our message asking for check in info for over 24 hours.”

“Place was nice, super clean house but the tap water smelt like rotten eggs. I told the host they said it was well water (which is fine) and that If you let it run the smell goes away (it didn’t). My thing is if you knew we were coming why not come by quickly and let it run yourself, make sure the smell goes away so it doesn’t smell terrible when we walk into the house after a long day to take a shower.”
