Manager Review

Palm Air Realty

Palm Air Realty's guest rating of 4.65 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

Shower water smelled like eggs no matter how long you let it run. The pool is definitely a hike to get to. Did find a few bugs and we all were bit up by ants also found dog bones under the couch. Good beach access and very nice not overcrowded area/beach.

The location was fantastic! We were able to rent beach chairs and an umbrella and walk out to the beach within minutes of leaving the room. There is also a small market less than a mile away, which was very convenient. A few things future renters should be aware of: There was a very strong sulfur smell coming from all of the water in the unit, including the shower, kitchen sinks, and bathroom. We did not notice the same smell in the restrooms at nearby restaurants and locals confirmed that’s not normal. There were also limited towels provided, so I would recommend bringing extras if you need them. The space is somewhat limited, and there were quite a few personal items belonging to the owner in the rental. Some larger decorative pieces, such as tall candelabras, made the space feel more cluttered than necessary. Overall, the location was a major plus, but renters should be prepared for the water odor, limited towels, and the amount of personal belongings in the space.

This place is in need of updating and some TLC. Furniture (couch & chairs) had stains, did not look like the pictures. The fans were full of dust, when turned on dust went flying. Behind TVs were covered in thick dust. Not just from a week or two. Had to keep unplugging & replugging HDMI cable for TVs to work. The sheets did not fit the mattresses. Every time we moved the sheet would come off & needed put back on. Pillows in master were flat. Extra pillow in closet had candy stuck to it. Band-aid found in one of the beds. Drawers of dresser in master do not open/close correctly. Carpets need replaced or removed & different flooring. There was a damp smell & thought maybe would get better after a day or two but did not. The door sticks & has to be shoved to open. We left a day early because a couple of us were having allergy issues from the dust. This can’t be controlled by renting company but upstairs unit was very loud. You hear every foot step. Assume no noise buffer between floors

Overall, my stay at the duplex was pretty good. The property is very walkable to the beach and has an outlet in the carport, good for charging golf carts. Having a big family made the amount of space perfect, although a connecting door between the units would've been perfect. We were provided towels, but they were old and stained, so we had to drive to Wilmington to purchase some to use. Some of the TVs stopped working or developed weird coloring that appeared suddenly. There were some dirty/previously used dishes in one of the kitchen drawers, so we had to buy new utensils and paper plates. It's important to note that Red Snapper (Unit 1) has no blinds or film on the door or windows downstairs, making it hard to feel comfortable at night. With that being said, the location is great, and the neighborhood is quiet. I would suggest a new cleaning team or a better review of the duplex between guests. With such a perfect location, this has the potential to be a very amazing property.

It was nice to be right on the ocean. It was very spacious. It did smell really bad the whole stay. Also was described at the entire home but there was another family on the first floor. I wanted the whole house because of the amount of kids we had. The people who stayed under us also only booked because they thought they had the “entire house”. This house has 2 units and was not in the description. Thankfully the people below us didn’t get upset with us for the amount of kids. Also sharing parking was not in the plans.

I hate giving any type of bad review but we were traveling from Virginia with a toddler and realize that most check ins are at 4 but sometimes we were able to get in even earlier with Airbnb’s we have stayed at. We called multiple times the day of our trip and messaged to see if there was a way to get in earlier but also to make sure we would at least get in at 4, which is check in time. We didn’t receive a call or any type of response back until after 4pm telling us that cleaners were still inside cleaning. Which led to a terrible experience overall because we were already exhausted from the drive and just wanted to get in on time. As far as the place goes, it is very spacious and just as pictured. The only thing that stood out was the balcony had wide spaces on the corner sides so we were terrified of our toddler getting near it as well as the way the balcony was made. It made it easy for a toddler to climb up and very dangerous. Other than that everything else was great.

The place was spacious and a bit modern. On the other hand, there were lots of flies and bugs inside the house when we first got there. They only provide 1 toilet paper per bathroom and wish they provided at least 2 so make sure you bring more based on the days you are staying. The location couldn't have been better and was a short 5 minute walk or less.

Very unprofessional and highly would not recommend, excessive tasks they can’t keep track of who is in what apartment, locks weren’t adequate, I called someone they told us they weren’t made aware of the locking system, stains on walls and doors, room Tv doesn’t open some icons, excessive tasks, still asking questions after we left.

Hot tub was broken and the pool was not accessible, which was not on the listing. Neighbors watched us very closely which felt uncomfortable. The code given to check in was wrong as well. They did agree to let me have extra guest stay during the day to enjoy the beach, but the overall vibe was bad- due to wanting a hot tub and outdoor pool which was why we chose the place, on top of the close eye as if we were not all grown adults.

The view here is incredible. We loved sitting on the porch for sunrise over the ocean and listening to the waves at night. The beach access is also a block or so away, and there was a big beach (larger than the pictures make it seem). However, the place is not very clean. Immediately when we walked in the door, there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke and air freshener. Even with the doors and windows open for basically our whole stay, the smell never went away. The bedroom was dirty, hair in the dresser drawers, gross shower/shower curtain. If the place was properly clean, no smell, and the shower was repaired, it would be fine, but we won’t be staying here again unfortunately.
