Oceanfront Cottage Rentals's guest rating of 4.72 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“Check out time was a little early but we truly enjoyed our stay”airbnb

“The home needs a lot of maintenance. The closet doors in bedrooms are all broke and do not work. Microwave didn’t work. Active plumbing leaks from second story. You can see water stains on main level ceiling. Poor workmanship and repairs that were made. Shower workmanship is awful and has no shelves to put soap, shampoos, or washcloths. Shower head in master leaks water against the wall. Master vanity top drawers are broken. Kitchen cabinet doors don’t close. Stairwell carpet is filthy and walls have crayon marks on them and are dirty. Uncomfortable mattresses. Home could be great. Has a lot of potential. Photos online are just misleading. Recommend shutting down rentals for a month and making some repairs”airbnb

“Great location and close to beach. No tv’s in all rooms, only master. No smoke alarm, had small kids.Pool had algae and mold. Was upset that we were admonished for having more than 4 cars at a 6 bedroom/ 14 person occupancy and has a 3 car garage. The Den has white couches, huge mistake for a beach house. Great memories though getting family together with lots of room.”airbnb

“We flew in and rented car and then the condo has no beach-ready supplies. We had to buy beach towels, tent, chairs, cooler, etc. Super inconvenient and expensive. Suggest adding a key-pad entry. The different pickup and drop off location for keys is not ideal. Plus the risk of losing actual keys while playing in the beach is stressful. Overall, I wouldn’t stay there again. It was high cost, low benefit. I’ve stayed at other condo on the island (was not available during our dates). They provided more toilet paper, paper towels, beach towels, chairs, and it’s a 1-bedroom place - much smaller and for 2-4 people max. The other downside, the master bedroom was hot and the other rooms were cold. We had to keep the bedroom door open at all times to make it tolerable, but that meant zero privacy from our children. Again, just not worth the high dollar cost we paid.”airbnb

“Very walkable to the beach. Pretty nice, pretty clean. Outside of the place is not as clean as the inside. Would stay there again if visiting Tybee Island.”airbnb

“Absolutely loved our condo. It was very clean. Right on the beach like the description said. Beds were ok-a little hard- but other wise good.. bathrooms were nice and clean and very spacious. A complaint I have was the elevator would work, then not work, then work again and then didn't work by the time we were leaving. They did call before we got there and told us it wasn't working so not really a huge deal. Just not fun trying to carry luggage up and down 4 flights of stairs. My other complaint was it seemed the walls are a bit thin and you can hear everything going on outside and the neighbours. Also I hope you have a small vehicle parking is tight.”airbnb

“We like the place and enjoy everything the only huge problem was that the cons is on a 3rd floor and we were not informed at the time of the reservation even though it he host knew the elevator was out of service very inconvenient because I had a stroke 3 weeks ago and was very difficult climbing all of them steps”airbnb

“Home was great, met our needs, had nice bathrooms, comfortable beds, and plenty of room. Down sides were an acrylic top over the kitchen table that was a safety hazard due to the sharp corners, while having a 2 year old at perfect head height. Another was a broken washer and dryer. We notified the host, and they sent a “repair man” who just turned it on and off till it “worked”. The washer did also wreck some of our cloths and the dryer took 3-4 cycles to dry anything. Other than that it was great stay, and we would consider the home again.”airbnb

“We booked this house as a place for a wider family reunion between family from the UK and Georgia. We’ve been coming to Tybee for years and wanted a larger place with a pool, beach views and enough beds for everyone. The house description provided what we needed. Check in was easy, we got settled and started to watch the England World Cup match. Unfortunately, the main TV display had issues and the lower left section was much darker, making it hard to watch the match. We reported this to the agent. Over the rest of the stay, we slept well for the most part, but the bed in the main bedroom was reported to be very uncomfortable and lumpy, so much that one person opted to sleep on the sofa. The pool was great for the family, but the pool cleaner arrived on the day before check out, put loads of chemicals in the pool and we couldn’t use it for the day and the rest of the stay. I spoke with Oceanfront rentals at checkout and they’ve issued a small refund.”airbnb

“The location of this place is fantastic! Right in the middle of the island. Walkable to everything and very easy on bikes. Super easy beach access and not over crowded even in high season. The problems we had were the second bathroom is not exactly usable as a comfortable bathroom during the stay. It’s tiny and there is nowhere to keep your toiletries in there, so our one bathroom space was very cramped with five people. Also the amenities listed are not accurate. Double check with the host before you pack for your trip.”airbnb
