“Pro's: Convenient location in a nice neighborhood. Private and quiet, bonus points for walkability (2 blocks) to cafes, restaurants, shops, and the beach. Clean refrigerator and microwave. Mirrored closet doors were nice, also having an iron and small iron board was helpful. Cons: It was very hot in the unit when we arrived, all the windows were left open, two working fans onsite. Place appeared to be clean, but the first thing I noticed in the bathroom was the tan hand towel on the hook that looked used, the left-over Dove bar soap in the shower, and all the bath towels didn't seem fresh smelling or washed recently. Not enough outlets convenient placed to plug in phone chargers/etc. I almost slipped in the shower tub, be very careful. I then found a large bathmat located underneath the bathroom sink. This would have been helpful to place outside of the shower tub. Water heater located in the kitchen was odd.”airbnb

“This was exactly what we needed for a weekend in SD. This is our first time staying in this neighborhood of SD. It’s mostly quiet/residential and walkable to downtown/restaurants. However as other reviews mentioned, it is directly in the flight path of SAN so the planes are quite noisy when you’re trying to sleep. I’d guess closing the windows might help but staying in summer w no AC meant open windows for us! I’d recommend ear plugs if you might be bothered by that. Other reviews mentioned parking might be an issue but it was easy peasy for us. Thanks for the stay Ana!”airbnb

“We loved the convenience of Dog Beach - we brought our pups daily. Cute little place for two. So walkable, fun Wednesday evening farmers market, fun restaurants, and even without all that - you are on the ocean.”airbnb

“There were ants everywhere kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and there was a brown chair that smell of animal urine. The bed very scary it shakes and creeps all night. We lost our food like bread and donuts dog food that was on the counter due to ants and no soap in bathroom no dish towels for the kitchen the tv cut in and out and no mop material to clean up”airbnb

“Great location! Easy check-in. Units seem to be lacking attention regarding maintenance and upkeep. Disappointed in the condition.”airbnb

“The apartment is as it looks in the photos. It’s absolutely walkable to the dog beach. And a very walkable neighborhood. The homelessness is very apparent but never a threat. The dog friendliness was the most surprising thing to me. A lot of dog friendly patios in restaurants. And general stores like a cvs allow dogs to walk in and out with their owners. It’s very refreshing to see how many people of the community around there are dog lovers. The dog beach is nice to have the dogs off leash And there were no signs of aggression between dogs. It felt safe for us to let them off leash. The apartment does not have ac. But the weather goes into the 60s and the beach breeze makes it very cool in the apartment. The windows are left open and there are fans if you need them. The airplane noise is loud. And beach birds are your alarm clocks in the mornings. The apartment is not luxury but it’s a fine place to stay.”airbnb

“WARNING…the photos for this listing are not accurate. The photos were from when it was new… this is super outdated. There were multiple large spiders, spider webs, cob webs, ants, holes, scrapes, dirt in corners and more. The tub had a piece of the top layer missing, the might seiches didn’t work, the fridge light didn’t work and so much more. Do not be fooled like I was… I got charged over $300 for 1 night in this place and it was not with it at all! I would never stay here again… don’t waster your money… I even had to get airbnb involved because I did not feel comfortable with the how the hosts were reaching out. Be aware”airbnb
