Oak Island Accommodations

Oak Island Accommodations's guest rating of 4.55 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

Great location, walkable to shops and restaurants. Dog friendly with dog park very close by. Over priced due to bad odors, moldy shower curtain and liner, moldy tile in shower. Garbage disposal wouldn’t run and also had moldy smell. Had to buy plug in air fresheners to help with odor. Comforter/bedding had bad odor-left bed clothing with an unpleasant odor. Visible items under the porch looked sloppy and uninviting. Yard more dirt and ant hills ..not much grass/landscaping. Side of house needs Powerwashing.

Water was not hot enough. Could use appliance upgrades, the stove works but took forever to heat up. Kitchenware is in need of replacing(pots)

Great and spacious condo super close to Caswell Beach. Loved that it has two pools you can go to while you're there. Decently appointed.

Perfect beach location! Steps away from beach. Close to town and Southport. Wonderful restaurants within 20 mins. Condo could use a good thorough deep cleaning (baseboards, blinds, door frames, stairwell).

This house was perfect in every way that didn’t involve the management group. The layout is fantastic for a large family: bathrooms for every bedroom, a well-equipped kitchen, 3 fridges, large dining areas, multiple outdoor hangout spaces, beach access deckway, outdoor shower, and beautiful views. It’s hard to imagine a better-designed house for a family gathering. Unfortunately, management soured the experience immediately by cutting corners on basics. Their starter kit included just 3 rolls of toilet paper for a house with 8 bathrooms, leaving 5 bathrooms without any TP. Most bathrooms lacked hand soap, the kitchen had almost no dish soap, and there were no extra trash bags or paper products. When we asked for enough essentials to get through the first night, we were told nothing more would be provided, so we spent our first evening shopping for toilet paper and soap. At this price point, basic supplies should be included. Despite this, we enjoyed our stay and the house was amazing.

It was fine. The best part o the place is how easy it is to leave and be on the beach. The view of the ocean is obstructed a bit by the dune but what can you do, dunes are important. For 3k a week you’d expect the dishwasher to be seated properly open easily and not easily pull out from the counter. Having to push back in an air vent, the screens left on the deck and what we think was a fire alarm covered in painters tape were charming touches. It’s a beach house so sand happens, we swept with the broom provided only to realize there is no dust pan (luckily there was a vacuum). Early check in and check out were offered via text which would have been delightful surprises had they not just been schemes to bleed an additional $100 out of you.

This house has a great view but the furnishings are worn out and the entire home needs to be gutted and redone. It's obvious that no upgrades have been done in a long time. The couch is very uncomfortable, the closets were cluttered, the kitchen drawers were dirty on the inside, and the bathrooms were small and old. The beds slept well but the whole place seemed unkept so that took away from the experience. I reported our dissatisfaction but they did nothing to resolve our disappointment in the place. I would not recommend this place especially at that price! Very upsetting.

We stayed here as a group of 8 adults for a family trip. The home itself is beautiful and very spacious. We really loved the multiple decks especially the ocean views and the location was perfect, less than 5 minutes from the beach. However, there were a few issues during our stay. One of the main reasons we booked this home was because it listed an elevator, which was important for my father-in-law who has difficulty with stairs. Unfortunately, it did not work when we arrived and wasn’t fixed until about a day and a half later. There were also a few maintenance and upkeep concerns. The dishwasher was missing a button and wasn’t repaired during our stay. We noticed a patched hole in the wall, a loose board on the stairs, and an outdoor swing area that could have been really nice but wasn’t clean or well maintained. The windows were dusty, and the TVs felt quite small for the size of the rooms. Overall, this is a beautiful home that would really benefit from better maintenance

Great location, 5 minute walk to beach. Very safe, quiet neighborhood. A few easy things to improve: put toilet paper in bathrooms, plug in tv, make basic repairs on furniture. We couldn’t find toilet paper or trash bags or figure out tv until 2nd day. That being said, I would stay here again. I recommend new table on deck, current table with seating rusty and uncomfortable. Porch chair missing screw - not safe to sit. Footstool in living room has broken foot. A little cluttered/worn overall. But still good value for what we paid.
